cowgirl I have other issues that are on apeal. I have hearing loss which they gave me hearing aids and 10% for ringing in both ears from 105 howitzer. they gave me the 70% pt/iu because the c&p doc read my file and records and said that my ptsd had gotten worse and that i would not be able to find and keep any gainfull employment because of things that happened on my last job. she gave me a 43gaf. i had been getting a gaf of 25 for more than 2 years and when i filed for increase and went to a different doc and a social worker my gaf was increased to 45 and 50 because they though that i was getting better, i guess.

I have a question about retro date. I filed for ptsd on about 11/10/2006 and was given 30%. I filed a nod and on 11/13/2007 was increased to 50% retroed too 11/10/2006. I filed for increase on 08/13/2009 and was given 70% PT/IU on 02/20/2010 which pays me 100% and retro too 08/13/2009. Is this retro correct or was it suppost to have been retro too 11/10/2006. I have been trying to look this up but with my memery and consentration poor i can not find anything. I can remember readind something about the VA is suppost to asume that when a vet files he or she is filing for 100% even if the vet does not spesifie the 100%. I don't know if that slack time between 11/13/2007 and 08/13/2009 stoped the retro or they are trying to short change me.

Mooshi You can not get ssdi and ssi. ssdi is total disability, ssi is a supplament for ss retirement when that check is below poverty level. if ssdi is based on your service connection disability than it could help.

Hang in there and be shure to give them everything that pertains to this. sometimes you have to wright a letter explaining everything in a time frame and take them by there hand and lead them step by step. do not give up on getting what you deserve.

I got a big white envelop today and I was dreading on opening it be cause i always think denied like it is most of the time. To day it said PTSD 70% with 100% PT/IU and was i suprised. I still have other isues fight for but for now things are looking up. I am wandering if my memery is correct that i can know try to get the VA to pay retro to the first date i filed for ptsd and was awarded the 30% and was NODed to 50% in late 2006. the letter says they are retro to aug 09 when i filed for increase for 70%ptsd with pt/iu. I want to thank all who have posted on here because i beleave i have gleaned some help from what i have read. :D :D

I have GERD and IBS they can not find what is causing it but they say that it not from PTSD because i had thease problems before i was dx with PTSD. This is the mentality that the VA Do's have. I am also o 20mg Omep. two times a day. Nothing that works for IBS except quit eating.

Sgt Sandman I have hearing loss and tinnitus in both ears. I don't get comp. for hearing loss because my loss is under the scale for comp. I get 10% for tinnitus in both ears because i was on a 105mm howitzer/ split trail. yhe way i under stand there is no test for tinnitus. I think it depends on the level of noise that you are exposied to. My older brother has tinnitus and was also in vietnam and was denied. He was exposed to some 155mm fire but his mos was truck driver and that is why they denied him. I amnot trying to dis courage you but to give you some idiea of what to look for with the VA.

Apeal ssdi give update on VA

I don't have much wrong with my neck accept the bottom 3 vertibria are fused too geather and i get pain when i try to turn my head to what would be normal, it's not SC. My back has 3 mildly ruptured disk l2/3 3/4 and 4/5 and they are not SC. They happened at work at the pine bluff arsenal Ar. and i got shafted on workers comp because of Dr's.

what i was wondering is what does all those letters behind md stands for and is it normal for a md to be doing swrink work?

correction i have been getting ssdi sence oct 2006.

I am drawing ssdi been getting it sence oct 2009 but i don't know how much the ptsd counted the rest is on my neck and backwitch is not sc.

I have been going over some of my medical reports from VA trying to figure out what has been going one. I have noticed for the first time that the srink that I have been going to is a MD staff phyision, he is the one that has been giving me a gaf of 25. the other one that i saw on the tv screen is a md pgy III and he gave me a gaf of 45. the lpn at the clinic did some kind of screen and gave me phq-2. the acsw lcsw did one and gave me a phq-9 and a gaf of 40. this was all in october 2009. i was just wondering if this looks or sounds normal. i filed for increase on my ptsd rated at 50% i think in july or aug 2009. i think i went for c &p in aug 2009. i would like some honist openion. runnenbare
