VetGeek85029
Thoughts... I have Hypertension rated at 0% and Anxiety Disorder at 0%. But, These were serviced connected and taking my meds, during service and after. I also had Nexus letters. What can I do, to have my rating up to 10% and correct the documentation? Thank you. 0 HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted February 26, 2016 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted February 26, 2016 A 0% rating for an anxiety disorder is unheard of IMO. If your anxiety affects you in any significant way you should get 30%. If you have it at all it is 10%. You need to appeal your ratings on both ratings. I would suggest getting IMO/IME from private doctors and submitting this as evidence along with your NOD. When did you get this rating? rwskitch and TALON II FE

0 Moderator broncovet Posted February 26, 2016 Moderator Share Posted February 26, 2016 (edited) Great advice. If you post the "reasons and bases" for your zero percent rating, we may be able to help you filing the NOD. What was your blood pressure? Are you on blood pressure meds? What are your "symptoms" of anxiety disorder? AS John said, the VA usually just denies if you are asymptomatic with anxiety disorder, and does not give 0 percent. If you take meds for it, such as Lorazapem, and that controls it, its error for VA to only condsider your symptoms "on medication" and not off meds. When my hearing loss was rated, they dont put my hearing aids in and test my hearing. They test it without hearing aids. Using that philosophy, the VA could say, "Heck, we are giving you 0 percent for your claim you lost a leg in service. Gee, we got you a new wooden leg and you seem to be doing just fine with the wooden one, so why should you get benefits for a missing leg? Its your own fault for not putting on the wooden leg. Its not our problem that the wooden leg causes severe pain, and does not fit properly. Just hop on one leg and stop complaining. Its not our fault if you injure yourself hopping on one leg, either. That has to be willful misconduct as you should be more graceful and learn to hop better balancing yourself...gee, you must be like all the other Vets, expecting a handout, just because your leg got blown off. We got you a wheel chair, too, so if it hurts just get in the chair. If you cant get the wheel chair in the bathroom, well just poop in a bucket and throw it out the window, being careful not to hit hard working VA employees when you do."
