Retro Payment Calcualtion For Skull Loss Cue
I made a Excel spreadsheet. Went to the VA website and downloaded the historical rates tables. I made a column starting from 1976 thru 2005 rates. Made two columns, one for 10% rates and one for 60% rates. I then created a drag and drop formula that deducted the 10% rates from the 60% rates. I multiplied the difference by 12 months for each of the years. I then added up the 1976 thru 2005 yearly difference between the 10% and 60% rates. The total came up to $181,740.00. Makes me think the VA will delay this forever and I can't even fathom them handing over that much money to me even the it is due me. That is a great monetary loss for a veteran to have to eat …

Please Check This Draft Cue Letter....berta, Vike, And Others
I have a draft of a CUE letter I intend to submit. I wanted to check with the pro's on CUE such as Berta and others here on hadit. Is this format good enough once I put my name, VA file number and sign it? It is about a page and a half, double spaced etc. It shows the reg they broke, how it would manifestly have changed the outcome, how the veteran is harmed, and remedy sought. Please take a look at it fellow hadit members, I may be reading yours someday. Those with experience with CUE, is this good enough to win? Thanks in advance. P.S. I will be gone for a few days, be back Saturday. CUE_6_Mar_2007.doc

Did I Do The Right Thing?
I have a relative that is a WWII Vet that never filed for disability. He now is diagnosed with asbestosis. Having read here that so many of you have taken control of your own cases, I helped him fill out the VA claim form, get his DD 214, and documentation from his primary care provider (civilian). We sent his claim package and recieved a letter from the VA saying that they have recieved his claim and will process it. In talking to the local AMVET rep he tells me that I screwed up. According to the AMVET rep "...the VA will eat him up because he does not have representation". The rep told me that no service organization will take his case and represent him to the …

Brown Water Navy Vets
A brown water in country Viet Nam vet called me yesterday. He filed a claim in November of 2006 and was questioning the time frame for his prostrate cancer claim. I told him that the pole on HADIT looks to be 6 months to a year on average for most claims. The question I have is are there any Navy vets here on HADIT that have won Brown Water presumptive claims? DMII, cancer, etc. Of course I referred him to the board and suggested he register to get information to help him guide his claim. THANKS! Terry Sturgis
