timetowinarace
Update: Surgery is completed. I was happy with the care but do have advice to anyone getting sugery. Be wary of the horror stories of the VA operating on the wrong side. It came close to happening. While the surgoen was explaining to me that the VA makes them mark the area to be cut on before going to the operating room, he was marking the wrong hand. Boy am I glad I was still awake when they did this. I think mistakes like this are a result of the VA's passing patient's along a assembly line type of care. As you go through each 'station' it only takes a small mistake at one of them to change the outcome. Just like passing a rumor down a line, by the time it get's to the end, the story has changed. Back to the finger, it should be fine.
