0 Moderator broncovet Posted April 1, 2019 Moderator Share Posted April 1, 2019 I went with wifey to her sleep doc appointment. (She has a cpap). So, for kicks, I asked him if sleep apnea was related to depression. This is a private sleep doc. He said, "But of course! OSA and depression have nearly the same symptoms. Sometimes OSA is misdiagnosed as depression, and depression can be misdiagnosed as OSA. They are closely linked". Im considering asking this doc for an IME (Independent Medical Exam, as opposed to Independent medical evaluation) . for me to get OSA secondary to depression. I thought I may not need it, but its looking more and more likely.
