SAH/SHA

Question

Well filed for a SAH/SHA grant for my home this past November and it was pending awaiting my RO to send my disability rating to them. Five months later and I call to see the hold up and I’m 100% P and T for my TBI how is it difficult to pass the word from one building to the next. Well yesterday it went from that to Decision pending approval and now today it’s back to gathering of evidence. For a second I thought hey maybe this will go quicker the a disability claim, guess I was wrong. Anyone have any experience with the SAH grant for homes? And is the way mine is moving normal?

I am not sure what you mean? grant for a home?

do you need your home made for a disability person (you) like widen doors ,install a sit down bathtub, make wheel chair ramps  ect,,ect,,? make your home more safe .

or do you mean the Home eligibility letter certificate? for a home loan?

if its the first part   call your R.O.  AND LET THEM KNOW YOU NEED SOMETHING DONE before you fall and break your neck.

My neighbor is disabled P&T Vet and he got all his stull fixed within 2 months after his grant was granted...he had some VA big wigs come out to see what all he was needing.

he got a Sitdown bathtube installed  and got ramps installed on his front porch and they took out 2 doors  and made them wider so he could get wheel chair in and some other stuff that he needed.

this was done by the ILP (Independent Living Program)
