  1. Hold your head high and take it one day at a time. Roll with the punches and leave them in past. Its all about the here and now. You are who you are and only you can change that. The ptsd doctors can give you the tools to do so. The further out you look the steeper the road to recovery will look. One thing I have found is there is going to many days where you'll feel you took one step forward and ten back. Just don't let it get to you. After all it is one big mind game.

You're doing great coming here and blowing off some steam. Very hard to do. Happy birthday btw!

  2. Well I will be notified within 60 days by mail when my C&P is.

On another good note I finally had my 2nd mediation about the job I was denied because of the medications I am on. They are going to send me a check in 10 business days for 6 months of work which they rounded to 15k. Of course I have to take care of the taxes but at lease I got something I guess.

  3. LOL, although I have no idea what any of that means, I just want to mention the best of luck for you and the wife!

Thank you lol. I guess it is like a HS student needing a 60% for a D- but I hold like an 95% A.

Something I found odd is one of the things we got mentioned to us is the PIP program for fixed utility bill rates. I thought it was silly in our case because I don't plan on not working ever again and when you get off PIP you have this huge bill that you built up. My cousin was on PIP because her husband left her with two kids when she was 22. After a few years she got her degree in office management? Then landed a decent job here making 27k a year. Got off PIP and then got a bill for all those years from some sort of escrow account of the portion of each bill that you didn't have to pay for while on PIP. <<< To me its like being a veteran. Its all good while you're marching to the beat of Sam's drums but when you get out it is like a kick to the teeth.

  4. Well I got some good news today. The EST of my SSDI claim being finished has decreased by 15 days and I was given a link to see the requirements for ptsd SSDI claims. Criteria A requires 2 yeses, and B 2 yeses or C as yes. Well Out of 10 for A I meet 9 of them, B all of them, and also C. Makes me kind of sad that I have so many yeses but at lease it should mean I get approved which will help my wife and I a lot.

  5. The thing that reallysucks about my situation is I fell like my brain has been reprogrammed. My last job I couldn't function because every time someone told me to do something I went into that mind set that I was being forced or some other stuff. I just can't work with people anymore. Its like I know I'm not going to be sexually assaulted but all those emotions comes back and I have just have to quit. Make it to the car and sit there crying and try t compose myself.

  6. Well the tards at the VSO have sent my claim back to development and I will be getting a C&P in the near future I hope. According to a letter from my congressman the VSO is going to send me for a C&P so I guess that means it will def happen. I just hope I get to have the C&P with the lady at the PTSD building who does C&P exams. She is a real nice lady. Other than that two middle fingers for the VSO.

  7. Off topic but I have to post it here lol.

Mid last year I used our extra bedroom and built a decent hydroponic system that is still growing English Ivy plants, 6 tomato plants, 10 plants that look like minature tropical trees (don't know the name lol), very large purple passion that I got from lowes (Not weed lol), and some Marigolds. This whole system is setup with digital timers so its like clock work on the on/off times. I received a 48 hour notice that the maintance department would be doing a walk through to check for water damage. (Some top floor tenants had a leaky roof. Well today I was greeted by someone from my landlord's office, and two police officers. They came in and started looking around. They spent about five seconds in each room but stayed in the extra bedroom for like ten minutes. Then questioned as to why I had grow lights, hydroponic systems, and an active carbon filter. Not realizing they thought I was growing pot I replied, "well the little green elf that lives in my closet told me to." Then I was informed that my electricity bill is higher than anyone else living here. (I pay for it so why does it mater?) I replied, "Really?" "Maybe thats because I have about 600w of draw int hat one room on average per hour and do you see that computer over there?" "It has a 650w power supply to power my gaming rig." They kind of looked at me with a "what a dick" expression and then said have a nice day,and left. I couldn't help myself. I went outside before they left and asked if they would be visiting me again if I were to add another grow light to my setup. Another "what a dick expression" and they said,"have a nice day and left. Then the guy from my landlord said sorry and I said, "what for?" "They didn't find my secret grow." Then went back into my apartment.

  8. Just wanted to do an update. I hate the VA, I hate the VSO(s), I hate our government, and I hate myself. STILL at the decision phase. What a surpise right? What will be an even bigger suprise is I will not the the xxxx, damn, shit, hell, and other offensive words to desribe how I feel inthis post.

Infantry leads the way hooah. Right into an up the rear end experience once you realize you'll be dealing with the VA for the rest of your life. What is hell you ask? I'd say the VA/VSO is a good reference. Now I know why I want to go to heaven so bad. Serving my country has been like riding a moped. After about ten minutes you'll find yourself in pain, no real joy that you can brag to your friends about and no one seems to care and you're made to feel that it is your fault that the semi didn't see you on the highway.

The VSO seems more like a random lottery. LETS SPIN THE WHEEL and see what you get! Whats that? The DMV-IV says you're 100%? WTF is the DMV-IV says the VSO. :facepalms:

  9. lol. Wouldn't be the first time I got the "WTF? Really? You're crazy!"

Veterans and non-veterans are getting tired of the government's BS. So much so that the government has pulled a unit back state side to learn martial law. Then we got the government buying all these plastic graves that are stack-able with the lids on.

The way I see it is the government is going to get run over by it's people and if that doesn't happen then we'll play the waiting game for some country to launch a nuke. Maybe that is why it seems our government is at a stand still with "recovery". They know something bad is coming.

  10. I wish I could afford to go to the RO everyday of the week. I'd be there holding a sign. The people have the power. Most have just forgotten it. Maybe standing outside of our city halls would work. There is no place in my home for the government's "hand". Until they retract their forced hand and see us veterans as equals to those on SSDI who never served I will not be happy. I know many would say violence isn't the answer; however, I do believe to kill a tyrant you must become one yourself. I would be as bold to say the RO/VA processes reflect that of a tyrant. NO MORE DOUBLE STANDARDS!

  11. Yeah, it is a bunch of BS. especially when you call them right after it goes to the decision phase and tell them, "I never got a C&P exam...." 6+ months later oh wait. Our bad. You may need a C&P exam. WTF! Pretty f***ing nice you get to sit on your lazy a**es and make all these mistake and still get paid while the people who you're working for are getting Fed over again and again.... *%&#............. Why can't the VA be like SSDI? When they get a claim and the person in charge of your claim with them will actually put you in for doctor exams for conditions you haven't claimed be they see something in your file and are proactive about it. <<< This coming from family experience with my half brother. He was going through SSDI for having his lower back messed up from a car wreck and guess what? SSDI looked at his paperwork and could tell he was probably "slow" and had anxiety. They did the right thing and got him into a mental health doctor and he got granted SSDI from a condition he didn't even claim! WHY can't the VA do this!!! AND people wonder why Americans would turn into a suicide bomber or serial killer and kill other Americans... Even the most sound sane person would become insane from the VA's BS!

I wish someone would put together groups of protesters to go protest at the regional offices. I know I couldn't put something together like that and not turn it into a violent mob hell bent on putting the fear of god in the RO's employees. Nothing would please me more than seeing one ofthose smug b@stard RO workers tied to a chair and tortured. I'd send a clear message tothem A-holes. 110% effort for each veteran or quit! I'm so tired of hearing, "well there are too many claims." Too many! Fire the worthless scumbags that just put in theminimal effort and hire more RO workers.... Oh no. That is to simple. Lets pit the veterans from different eras against each other and blame everything else.

Seriously. How can you tell a veteran who's claim has been at the raters for over 7 months that the average time is 26 days and make it sound so mundane?!!!!?!?!?! I'm not in the F***ing military anymore. So why does it feel like we have just as litttle rights as a service member? The people have the power to change things. I say rain hell down on the government and force change now. Republicans vs Democrats... Fighting and whining over baby sets to put America "back on the road to recovery." A few years to late if you ask me. You know what. I blame all the ordinary people. They just take it as it comes and as long as they have a roof, car, food, and can party every weekend they are happy. About time for civil war baby!

  12. i believe my experience was trivial knowing what others endured .

Nothing is trivial when it comes to your well being. Would some walk away from your experiences without acquiring ptsd? Maybe, but this is you and your situation. Don't ever think of your situation being trivial or mundane.

  13. Called 800# today and actually got an update..... My claim is with a supervisor at the rating level to be reviewed and sent back to a rater because I never got a C&P exam. I asked them about this since 1-1-2011............. So now I wait to see if they will go ahead and rate me or send me back to development for a C&P................. I'm ready to go postal....

  14. I have two options to fix virus problems. One is a permanent fix, the other works, but requires continious updates and maintenance.

    1. Temporary. Go to www.majorgeeks.com and download "anti vir". Antivir uses less resources than AVG (slows your computer down less), but is still very very popular. My experience is that "free" antivirus software protects better than "home" MacAfee, or Norton. The Enterprise versions, however, of MacAfee/Norton are much better. Unfortuanately, you and I probably can not afford the enterprise versions, so antivir is the next best among the Windows based antivirus software solutions.

    2. Permanent. There are at least 110,000 virii that infect exclusively Microsoft software, so the permanent fix is to dump Microsoft, or at least dual boot and use MS only when running software which requires microsoft OS. The good part is there are several very good Linux based software versions which are superior to Microsoft and are "open source", that is, free. One such free operating system that I like and use is Kubuntu at http://www.kubuntu.org/getkubuntu

Notice that you can even get a free CD there..yes, the shipping is free too. Some good things are free..VA benefits, are free, for example. Another outstanding free operating system is Linux mint, also available for free at: http://www.linuxmint.com/download.php

You need to "unthink Microsoft". For example, if you download either Linux Mint or Kubuntu and burn the CD/DVD you can run them live on your computer. Microsoft likes everyone to think there is no such thing as a live operating system CD, because MS operating systems all require installation to the hard drive. With several of the Linux versions, however, you can try the operating system from the CD rom drive and do not need to remove your old Windows operating system to try it and see if you like it. Of course, running Linux from a CD rom will be slower than running Linux installed to your hard drive, but you can still try it and not wipe out your present OS. Try it! Another very very good thing about Kubuntu Linux, for example, is that you can take a blank hard drive and be online with Linux in ten minutes or less! Yes, its true I have done it! You stick the CD in the CD rom drive, and click the Firefox icon and poof..you are online..YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR HOURS TO INSTALL THE OPERATING SYSTEM ON THE HARD DRIVE!!!

I'm running Ubuntu 11.4 with latest WINE and all my windows based software works. Plus all my PC games run under WINE to in Ubuntu.

    System SPEC:

    CPU: Q6600 OCed 2.8

    RAM: (2) 2gig ddr2 1066

    GPU: 5750 1gig gddr5 128bit

  15. I know this is an off topic answer to your question but I suggest you give Ubuntu a try. It is based off of Debian. Don't let the "linex OS" scare you. I have been windows 100% up until a few months ago.

Free for windows I used Comodo. You get, anti-virus, firewall, and many other really nice software for free. Comodo also has a gaming mode which when enabled it blocks any pop-ups that would interrupt games or movies. Comodo didn't cause any slow down on my system either.
