August 1. 213 is your effective date, but not your initial date of claim. You will be paid backpay to the initial date which ever that may be. For instance, I filed my claim on 7/2010, but retired on 9/2010, so when my claim was decided on 6/2013. My paid started the day after I retired. So if you didn't retire and let's say you filed your on 1/1/2012 then you will get paid from 1/1/2012. The 8/1/2013 is only used as the effective date that you will be paid from now on, but that date doesn't include any retro pay. Hope this makes sense.
Good luck, and Congrats.

meghp0405, thanks for the info, but, the benefits that I'm using are not through Voc rehab. I'm using my post 9-11 which is of course a benefit I earned because of my service, and I don't believe that, that will have an impact with the social security people, actually they said I can still work but, I can't earn more than $1000 or the difference will be deducted from my social security benefits. Actually, I won't be able to finish my BS because I only have 10 months left of benefits under Post 9-11, and I will be short 1 1/2 years short from the degree, and I don't plan on continuing because I would have to use voc rehab and I don't want the headache.
Thanks for the heads up brother.

Westcoastlv if you live in the California area and have problems getting your SS, get a law firm called Bender and Bender, it's a good law firm, and they helped me get my SSN within 1 year and after being denied once by social security administration.

Congrats, I know the feeing. Good for you, it still doesn't feel like it's happing Right? But, it's real Buddy, so go out and enjoy a well deserved dinner with the family. Remember this, you deserve every red cent you got from the VA.
Thank you so much for your service brother.

I am so glad for you and your family. I know the feeling, I recently received my 100%P&T about a month ago, and it feels so good to have it all behind me now.
I'm also retired from the Military so I receive concurrent payments plus my Social Security early due to my service connected disabilities, and now I am currently using my Post 9-11 GI Bill benefits even though I'm
having trouble seeing because I'm blind from my left eye. but, I need to take advantage of my benefits or I'll lose them. so
now all we have to do is take care of our health and enjoy the benefits we earned and are now paying due to our poor health, but
it's ok, as long as there's enough money coming in to give the family a stable and comfortable life it's worth it.
Congrats once again.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes, and yes Celia, I do plan on putting some of it away for a rainy day. I bought a motor home a month ago with a life time membership at a lake 45 miles away from my house called
Mountain Lakes here in California, so now I plan on doing a lot of cat fishing with the family and just kicking it. Finally after so many years of service it finally has come to an end, and now it's time to drill my grand kids a
little, and have them take care of grandpa for a while lol. Best of wishes to everyone out there.
God Bless.

God Bless, and thank you guys once again.

Well, today I received the last of my 100% retro. Sure feels good having closure with this retro owed to me.
Now, I just have to wait like everyone else on my dependency claim which is still pending. Thank you Hadit for all your advice.
God Bless everyone.

Looks to me like you will now have 46% which is rounded out to the next ten's which is 50%, and since your'e retired receiving your retirement check, only means that now you will receive two checks under CRDP, one from the military, and one from the VA. I hope this brings good news too you along with some retro pay.
Congrats.

No Berta, they didn't explain anything at all. This along with the decision documents are the only things I received. Last year in May I received a partial decision of 90% with a retro deposit of $26,996. This retro was released to me after the Military had audit my records to make sure I wasn't over paid or owed them any money. All this time I have been paid as a single veteran, with a dependency claim pending. Anyway, I just received the rating for one of the deferred medical issues, which put me over 100% plus SMC for my left eye. So once they made this last and final decision I was under the impression that all money issues were no longer an issues with DFAS, and I would receive the retro for the difference
of 90-100%, having said that, I had figured they would owe me in the ball park of around $38000, and as a single veteran. I know the dependent claim is separate, and that claim will be paid separately. So for now I'm at a lost, and I don't have any ideas on what my next step should be, or who to talk too. This is just to much money to forget about it especially being on a fix income.
Thank you Berta for such a quick responce. Hopefully something good will come out of this, and fairly quick.

Can someone please explain what they did here with my retro payment. I only received $11,012 and seems to me like they withheld a large portion.
My question is, will I get this money back? and if not why was it withheld?
My retirement check from the Military is $2663 a month, would this have something to do with it. (CRDP

Yes, Yes, Yes, tonio. I am so HAPPY that you finally received your 100%, but, P&T, dang brother you got it all. Thank you Jesus for giving my friend his well over due benefits.
Now, join the club, and enjoy your well deserved retirement with your family.
I am so happy for you my friend.
God Bless, and live healthy so you can enjoy as much as you can.
Oh tonio, go and get your DV license plate. I went to DMV last week, and they ordered it. They said it would take like 90 days for me to receive it.
