  1. Welcome rootbeer22, and Thnak you for your service.

As for a time frame it's every hard to determine that, because of all the changes, and legal issues that the VA is, and has been going through. Not to mention all the changes with personal.

All I can say, is that I hope things move a lot faster for you then it did for me.

I filed my claim several months before retiring in 2010, and in 2012 I received a partial rating with a few contentions deferred.

Finally in 2013 I was rated 100%, but until this date, I have not yet seen my dependency claim come to a close. It is now going on 4 years and no end in sight.

Of course things are a little different now since the VA has been under so much hot water, and I feel that your claim could possibly go a lot faster than mine.

One thing for sure is, that the more difficult case seem to take longer due to the VA assuring that it is done right the first time around.

Anyway, I wish you well, and I hope your claim goes a lot faster than mine.

    Best of luck..

  2. What the Heck is going on with E-benefits Pete992? I have an open dependency claim that has been on going for the last 4 years, and on the 18th of this month a lady from the VA called me and said to reopen another dependency claim through a new Pilot program that has been working fairly quick, and I should see my claim come to an end faster. I asked her if I would lose my original claim date, and she said no. Well since doing that, my original dependency claim dropped off the system, not showing any proof of ever being there, and the new one went from received claim to pending approval on the same date. Bottom line, since doing the Pilot Claim the P&T option feel off. I have check all my letters, and they are still showing as 100% P&T with no further exams. Makes me kind of wonder if it's just a type o mistake, or something else? I'm really not trying to stress over this anymore then I have to.

    Thanks y'all for your help.

I feel the same way. I found that the one's that don't offer us a Military discount sometimes feel a little guilty once I'm done with them that they windup giving me the police discount.

Sometimes, I'll except it, and other times I won't, it all depends on their attitude.

  4. I was able to log into E-Benefits today finally, but, now it won't show me Compensation Status, Payment History, nor VA Letters. For a brief minute, I was able to open Benefits Explorer, and it showed the current rating of 100 % which I am, but didn't show me as being P&T which I am. Also seems like they corrected my age though. They have been showing me at 60 which is wrong because I'm 59, not a big deal, but, I am kind of wondering what is actually going on with E-Benefits!

    Thanks for any replies.

  5. I will say this. The clinic in Victorville, Ca. was a very good one, but when my doctor by the name of Dr. Bischoff left everyone there forgot to follow up with patients.

I have only been back twice since she left, and I wasn't very impressed with one of the doctors there one bit. Lucky for me that I don't have to be seen by them due to having private health care,

and doctors that are professionals, and take their profession serious, and show care to the patients.

  6. Kate, sorry to hear that you and your husband are getting the run around. As for the Camp Lejeune water, what is currently going on with it?

I was also in Lejeune from 1976 through 1979, and i am also very sick and currently rated 100 % for other service connected health issues.

I haven't started to proceed with a claim on this.

    Good luck with it all.

    God Bless.

  7. Congrats on your win. Well deserved. Also spend wisely on whatever makes you happy

Ps: I just love what they did to this website. Very Nice. Thanks

  8. Congratulations my brother on your claim. I find that once they've make a final decision, and award you with the rating, it's only a matter of time for them to release , and pay what they owe you. This is great news, if anyone deserves this, is you, I see that you have been through a lot already. But, now come your payday, enjoy, and spend wisely.

  9. reddingca:

Don't feel bad, or alone on this one. I filed my initial claim in 2010 when I retired from the Military, and in 2012 I was awarded a partial rating of 90% with a couple of issues deferred. So in 2013 when I was rated 100% the VA said that they were missing prior divorce papers, Really? I told them that all the paperwork had been submitted three years prior. Well, they said to re-submit, and I did. So sometime in 2013 e-benefits showed as being received and a new start date of 2012, well here we are in 2014 and my paperwork has been sitting in the Pending Decision Approval for the last 6 months or so, and when I call the VA to ask them whats up with my claim, they basically just tell me the same thing they told you. This is ridiculous, 4 years, come on! Plus they want to short change me by two years, imagine that! These people should be fired, and replaced with all Veterans, because they would get the job done.

Good luck, and lets just be patient, and hopefully we'll hear some good news soon.

    God Bless.

  10. Congratulation on your win Marine. It shouldn't be much longer before you receive the brown envelope.

Anyway, keep an eye on your bank deposits. You might get a big surprise very soon.
