  1. i started at 10 percent in 1988 after i was medically discharged from the navy. it took me 17 years to get that to 40. and then only a few after that o get to 60 and then unemployable.
  2. i actually had two dav dso's disclose. i trusted one but the other was next to worthless.
  3. i don't know john, there are many in congress as bad if not worse than many VSO's.
  4. trust me, you aren't alone in the getting hosed in all directions crowd. that's why this site is awesome. we have all been there.
  5. UPDATE: turns out someone changed something on the computer they weren't suppose to. spoke with the enrollement clerk who verified nothing had changed and their was no pending action. thanks for all of your help. as you can imagine, this has been a stressful week.
  6. regional is almost 200 miles from where i live. i am wheelchair bound and no longer drive. i would need to offer a friend or my sister a kings ransom to go there. i'd find a way. i recently learned i can request an audit of my file. i understand that will tell me who has looked at it and when. not sure that will tell me whats in it. i also understand i can request a copy of my c-file too. all true?
  7. thanks lc. by the way, my intials are lc! :-) let me ask this. if there was a reduction letter (even if i didn't receive it), wouldn't it have to be in my record some place? you would think that would be yes.
  8. could not have said it better myself. but let me ask, is it possible this is a computer snafu? someone entered something by mistake? with the va, anything is possible, ya know!
  9. sorry, i still don't understand this. last time i checked my mail was friday and there was no letter from the va informing me of a reduction. but i find out monday, it already happened. can the va legally do that, reduce you and then send a letter? my address is correct in their system. it had to have just happened because my january check was at 100 percent.
  10. pr, i will be 64 next month in about 6 weeks. social security said i didn't have enough work credits for a ten year period. i would have to go back to 1992 when i last worked full time. i freelanced for a number of years and never reported income. in 2000, i worked for almost 2 years part time, until i received my nsc pension. i applied for social security in late 2001, 3 months before my 62nd birthday.
  11. when i applied for social security before my 62nd birthday, i applied for ssd and was told i didn't have the necessary work credits. and yes, when i learned about the denal appointment being cancelled, i called my mental health tele coordinator who confirmed it no longer said i was being paid 100 percent because of unemployability and the p&t remark went from yes to no. as of last friday, i have received nothing from the va. and as i stated, my january check was for 100 percent.
  12. thank you. that was my plan to fax it from the va since i am not close to the ro. and make a copies foir myself. and send certified to ro.
  13. and that's the way it should be. i'm onl;y 40 percent for my back. but i have problems from my neck to my behind. osteo arthritis, degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, spinap stenosis, foraminal stenosis, a slipped vertabrae and herniated discs. i also have inflammatory arthritis on top of that, which of course makes it worse. i have been trying to get just to 50 percent but i don't meet the criteria. the va has declared me wheelchair bound due to my spinal problems and the rheumatoid. that said john, i would appreciate any more advice on how to proceed, given that i have not received any notification from the va. thanks very much.
  14. but i don't qualify for ssd, lack of sufficient work credits.
  15. no, in fact my january pay was at 100 percent. i found out by accident when changing an audiology appointment because i knew i was due for dental soon. ebenefitd shasn't even updated yet.
  16. what happens if that letter doesn't show up? and where would this hearing be? i'm wheelchair bound and can no longer drive.
  17. my regional office is on the other coast from me. i'm in daytona beach, and they are in st. pete. could i send it certified to st. pete (and i keep an extra copy)? what is that form number again. believe me it won't happen again. thanks phillip. ps no address changes either.
