  1. The only letters I have recieved from the VA were the first initian letter saying they recieved my claim and another one stating that they are still working on it. I have sent them everything I have about everything I claimed. The records were at the VA and I told them which one. Thanks for all the help. I know ebenefits it not always accurate, but I was just hoping this one time, something would go according to standard. I guess if they deny it, I will just move on. I dont have the mental energy to fight the VA for years.
  2. but what is a VSR Review? That is the thing I am so confused about.
  3. Hi everyone! I have been going to the VA doc for a while now, almost a year, about my back and they told me to put in a claim for my back. So I did. So I am now in the Prep for Decision phase. Here are my questions: Why haven't I had a C/P exam. I thought that was standard? WHat does this mean: Request 2, Due date: Not Available Status: No longer Needed, VSR Review. What is a VSR Review. I have tried Googling, and looking at other forum posts and I am just confused. What was it that they think they dont need. I am just very nervous bc my doc told me to put in the claim but they haven't done a C/P exam. I also submitted the claim in July 15. So if I am already in prep for decision, it is going really fast. Smells like a denial. Any advice would be much appreciated.
  4. I agree LC. It has become more of the norm. However, I hope many people who post and just browse for information can tell the difference between the replies with good intentions, and those that reply because they seek some sort of attention. I look for certain peoples' responses and replies and was thrilled you replied to one of mine! I am done claiming all I needed to claim for the VA. I only had two contentions and won them both thanks to the information you have posted! So when I have a drink tonight, I shall toast to you and others like you for all your advice!
  5. Can I say thanks to everyone. My claim is finished and I got my 10% for Tinnitus. I giess MOS really has nothing to do with it after all! I will admit seeing that comment irritated me a bit because it was so cut and dry, and when dealing with the VA nothing is cut and dry! I am constantly on this forum looking at posts and learning si much! My first claim finishedin less than 8 months and my second in 5 months. So reading the posts about peoples' claim taking years to finish kept me grounded! If they can wait years, so can I! Thanks for all the help, support and advice!
  6. I logged in and double checked all my personal information. All seems to be in order. I am still cautious as I havent heard anything really from the VA about this, but didn't something like this happen in 2011?
  7. Can anyone else download their letters from Ebenny? IWhen I try, it says cannot find, then says page takes to long to load, another time it just nothing. Not sure if it is my computer or not. I was just on it earlier today.
  8. I was actually Army and I am actually a female. Not sure where USMC and being male came in at. Yes, my MOS was admin, however during deployment I worked on the flightline with the planes and 'copters. The time one deployment doing said job is in my record from another injury... so not sure if that will help me at all either. I am pretty sure everything was documented in my med record correctly, but you can never be sure. I am not an audiologist and will not pretend how to read the records. From what I have been told in the past, my records show hearing loss, or at least enough to get serv conn. Either way, I am in the prer for decision phase and will simply wait for their approval or denial. Hopefully they come back in my favor but who knows, the VA has a different set of rules everyday....
  9. Thanks. I know I am asking a lot of questions. I just like to be informed about everything. I wanna know how it works so I know how to prepare my next claim.
  10. So when it says "d) Tinnitus can sometimes be assessed in a telephone interview when a current audiometric examination is already documented. " Does that mean that they already see the evidence that I have tinnitus or proof that it may exist and the phone interview was just to cover themselves? If I am rated 50% for PTSD and then I get the 10% for the ringing, will that bump me to 60% or no?
  11. I accidently put in the wrong date. I submitted my claim Sep 13. So it has only been a few months. I have just never heard of the ACE phone interview. Thought it was odd but hey, if it speeds up the process, I will take it. When deployed, I worked around the flightline and the 'copters. My actual MOS was admin but rarely do you do your MOS when deployed. Esp when your unit has an abundance of people in a certain MOS! I am still in the Prep for decision phase or rating or whatever. Is the consensus that the longer it takes, the better chance of winning are? My claim is in MN and I hear they are one of the fast RO's. Thanks a lot
  12. Hey there, this is my second post and am still figuring it all out! So the nitty gritty.... I filed my claim for tinnitus in Sep '12. So on Jan 7 I had an ACE phone interview with someone from the VHA. He saked me 5 questions about my hearing, what I did on Active Duty, how my daily life is affected etc. So my question is this...how are they testing the tinnitus over the phone. Can such a call really give them enough information to determine whether or not I will be granted tinnitus. Has anyone else ever had an ACE exam? Does the ACE work in my favor or hurt me in the end? I decided to look in ebenny (i know its not reliable) my claim went from under review to prep for decision in 2 days. How does that make sense? Should I be concerned about a denial since it moved so quickly? Thanks so much for all of your help with this. I would also loke to say that this forum helped me immensely esp with my original claim. Special thanks to Tbird as well!!
  13. Hello All! So here is the story. I had a claim and it was complete on 8/12/13. Good deal right. So that claim, which was for PTSD/MST now shows in historical claims. The confusing part is that now there is a claim for "aquired psych condition to include but not limited to PTSD". Opened on 8/13/2013. I am confused. My original Claim was submitted on 2/2013 and that was the only claim I had ever filed. It is currentl in the "under review" stage. I did not send them any evidence about anything else but for the MST claim. I am not sure what this is all about. It is not for my dependents or anything else. It says "compensation." Should I clal the VA and stop this claim? I won my original claim and I am happy with the rating. I am not aure what this new claim is. please help!
