  1. Berta, I will certainly contact SSDI and ask them if my award was connected to my SC. On another subject, because I got out in 1990, and have many compensation awards since then, the last being in 2014, am I still qualified for vocational rehab? Thanks.
  2. Berta, Honestly I don't know if the SSDI is solely for SC or not. I started receiving SC in 1990, applied for and finally got SSDI in 2001. SS sent me to their Dr., if that helps.
  3. Gastone, As per your suggestion, I applied for Voc Rehab on my Ebenefits page some weeks ago, and have heard nothing. I don't have anyone assigned to me from Voc Rehab. "pinged" means to contact someone, something...etc.
  4. Gastone, The Voc Rehab folks have not contacted me. It's been a few weeks since I pinged them on my Ebenefits page.
  5. I'm 6' 8", and probably weighed around 230 at separation. Don't have a copy of my Separation medical exam. Weight has never been an issue with me, I've always been well within the BMI.
  6. Broncovet and Berta, Thanks for your input. Berta, I've had no earned income since 2000. Broncovet, I just got the C&P denial back in June of this year, so I am well within the year you speak of. Berta/Broncovet, considering both of you had great input for my situation, which option do I choose? Thanks.
  7. I'm SC at 80%, with 40% on my right leg. Back in June, I had a C&P exam on my right leg and knee, and was denied increased compensation this August because I didn't meet the range of motion guidelines for increased benefits. This September, I learned that my right leg, currently SC at 40%, is now shorter than my left leg, and a recent MRI on my lower spine, which is SC at 20%, has a "mild progression of the facet hypertrophy at L2/L3-L/5/S1, since the last MRI.." Over the past few years, I have had physical therapy on both my leg/knee, as well as my lower back, and have had at least 3 shots of Cortisone in that SC knee, and podiatry has prescribed a shoe insert to make up for the shorter SC right leg. Everything is medically documented. So, in view of the above, do I ask for a reconsideration of the C&P decision, or something else? Thanks.
  8. Understood. I also have non service connected Sleep Apnea, wonder if the Voc Rehab folks are allowed to consider that as well?
  9. Gastone, Eligible for Voc Rehab after my last SC increase, or the original SC award? I had an increase in SC-right leg, in 2014.
  10. Gastone, Thanks, I just reapplied for Voc Rehab on my ebenefits page. Another question is will I still be eligible for Voc Rehab since I came in 1974 and got out in 1990? Pointers to remember when I do meet with the Voc Rehab folks?
  11. Gastone, To answer your questions... 1. I have been SC since 1990, with my last compensation increase being 2014, which put me at 80%, with one condition at 40%. 2. I have never received anything from the VA stating "Implied IU Claim". 3. I understand some about IU. 4. I have had no EARNED income since 2000. 5. I have never had a "Professional Employment Counselor's" opinion on anything, but then again, I have not had any employment since 2000. 5a. I do draw Social Security Disability at the full rate since 2001. Also let me add that recent MRI's and bone density tests have shown that the one condition, my leg, which is rated at 40%, has gotten worse. 6. So yes, I have plenty of medical evidence that my compensated conditions have gotten worse. Thanks, Allan
  12. I have total service connected disabilities rated at 80%, with one condition at 40%, and will be applying for IU. What are the benefits of IU? PX/BX, Commissary, ID card...?
  13. Afternoon folks, new kid on the block here. Last week I was diagnosed with Sjogren's Syndrome, which is an autoimmune syndrome, it's also known as Siccus Syndrome. I was going through the VA's lists of medical conditions, and didn't fine the condition. Anyone have any information on how the VA rates Sjogren's or Siccus Syndrome? Thanks, Allan
