Marinejay, It is a well known fact on this board that I am not impressed what so ever by Dr. Bash. This is a prime example why. This is a very very poorly writen IMO. It shows one reading of what may be hypertension but I am not sure it is a correct reading (90/104). Anyway it is only one. Where are the others you will need for verification of Hypertension. You will probably need at least 5. I see a whole lot of conjectures and it is possible, and in my opinion it is possible. These are not backed up by " see test results, or I have seen the MRI, or X-rays I have studied show this injury occured during service." Most of what it shows is that the claiment (you) complained of this ailment at different times. I see nothing where Bash chows a positive cause or medical proof. I hope you did not pay his standard fee. There is another Vet's board where if you post this IMO you will get more honest opinions. There are quite a few members who were prior claim reps at the VA and answer honest. They may not say what you want to hear but they will tell it like it is. This board has many members who adore Bash and hate someone who expresses another opinion of him. Awhile back I ask for Bash success stories. Got about 2 and the rest were waiting who who have heard of his success at the BVA. They were not only cases with Bash IMO but other experts as well. I will give you the address of the other board if you contact me. Again I will state I am not a fan of Bush and think hi is over-rated and he is over paid. I see many of his opinions but nothing to back them with " medical proof." As a former combat marine myself I wish you the best of luck in getting your claim approved. I just don't think this IMO will do it.

Mr. B, I am a little confused. How, if your being paid at the 100% IU rate, are you still working. You stated you wanted to stay in to get your 20 years. That means you are working and you should be able to stay and get your retirement but not draw IU pay. FLHRCI, You have 60 days from the day you get the denial letter to file a reconsideration. They usually allow 5 days for delivery from date on letter but I would not push the letter date. They will not list the number of pages in your records, usually just the date of report and who from. If you feel they do not have any reports send them in. Ask them to look at your disibilities as a whole and how it affects your daily activities. List all medications and their side affect. The ailment can affect your body but the medication can affect they are aware of all your limitations. They try to say most times you can do sedary work. Let them know if your concentation lapses or you have a hard time holding attention and forget simple thibgs like can't remember instructions. Did they examine you with their docter? If so state that your own Doctors report should care more weight than a one time eximation. Usually a lawyer won't take your case unitl the 2nd denial or before you go to the Admin Law Judge. Let them know everything about how you feel and your limitations. Thats the only way they will know. That's how I did mine and it worked for me. Good Luck.

I still cannot believe the positive replies for Bash and the negativies for the VA. YES, there are alot of closed minds on this board and some open minds. Some replies understand and accept both side of this debate. This is what a debate is for. I previously stated I understand some people think highly of Bash and I understand and accept their opinion. However, there are some who do not accept any other opinion than their own. They cannot get over this issue. I do not like Bash nor do I think he is worth the price. To all you Bash worshippers who do not understand two side to any discussion you are small, simple (also closed minded) minded people. Fla_Viking, Yes, I could post my medical report here on Hadit but with all due respect you don't really expect me to do that. It would be a no win situation. Some folks would not know what they are looking at anyway but say Bash did a hell of a good job. I sent it privately to a well respected member of this board who thought it looked good. Both me and the VA disagreed. Yes the VA looked at it . As I say it was used for evidence and never referred to again. A friend also used him for ($1000) for in-county skin disease and was turned down. Another vet I knew wanted to pay payments and Bash wanted cash up front as he had been burnt before. A real compasionate man out to help the Vet. I do not particually care to have my ailments aired on this forum. There are too many folks who would find fault with my problems. I will tell you I am a boots-on-ground Viet Nam Marine and spent 12 1/2 months in the field. Never had a hard wood floor. If all the nay-sayers and Bash adorers want to post their report for all to see I will reconsider. I asked for sucessful cases and received few, just ckeck BVA appeals where he is listed. I will not change my opinion and could care less if anyone on this board does. That is not a smart a** statement but a fact. I think any Veteran in the future who wants to know of or use Bash is entitled to hear ALL SIDES, not just from the ones who think his stuff don't stink. As I stated my surprise before in a comment, "what is it with you people who can not accept negative comments about Bash." And Jangrin, if you like analogies, do you like spinach? Like all spinach it is good for you, right? None will kill you. We are talking about Bash and my opinion of him, not your tire salesman. How do you know the tireman was not worried about your safety on the road. Yes, Bash works for money, thank you for admitting it. I thought maybe you and some think Bash is a saviour here to save the Veteran's claim. According to Carrie (Morgan) we can not win without him. It is a shame that some simple minded or closed minded people cannot accept my opinion of him and feel you MUST try to degrade me for voicing mine. I have talked to Bash, paid $2000 for his IMO and did not get what I was promised. I feel it was poorly written and it was listed on my evidence used statement from the VA with no other reference. I still have old emails from him I referred back to as to verify my statements. MY OPINION OF BASH IS ONE OF DISRESPECT. ACCEPT MY OPINION OR GET OVER IT AND QUIT WHINING. Carrie, Please feel free to use my name as the Bash Basher. I stand by my opinion that he is in it for the money, just as you have your opinion he is not. I would like you to tell me also why your opinion is any more valuable than mine. Is this some unique idea you have you are worth more than others. I will stand by my assertions. You had a good experience with him. Good for you. I had a bad one so tough for me. There are some who care for him and some who don't. If you think that selling a second car is worth it, fine. Obiviously you didn't need it that much. Dr Bash, you say, helped you get 100% and 100%. I'm glad for your husband as a fellow Veteran. As far as your opinion on Bash it has not changed my mind what so ever. There are other Doctors who do IMOs' at a far lesser price. Bash looks for things to over-state. If the Dept Sect. of Vet Affairs says his opinion is “extremely valuable and necessary" then they better change the way they do their rating system. That is a very misleading statement. Sounds like they are saying you need his opinion as it is "necessary" to be granted an award. Are you honestly that naive to believe that. In closing I stay with my "OPINION" and from people who I have personally spoke to that Bash is over-rated and I feel over-price.

Berta, I received my rating in Jun-2006. It was dated back from filing date or after convelesant award, which was mar 05. I received letter in June and immediatly ask for reconsideration and IU. They will have to back date either one (lungs or IU) to the claim date of Mar 05. That will be the difference from 90% to 100%. Figure it will take at least 5 to 8 months. At least I'm getting my pay now. Had to fight them on tax with-holding for my seperation bonus but I finally one that and get my actual check now instead of paying back.

I get 70% for depression. Doctor said depression secondary to lung cancer, but wrote in C & P that looking in my service records, med records, stressors,PH, and CAB, and talking I have PTSD. VA did not ask about PTSD so they just wrote for depression. Jstacy, FEV-1 of 48 after- Had the C & P test. @ test before, one rated 30 - one 60. Last one they didn't receive or use as evidence was C & P rateabl at ^), so 2 60's and 1 30. Never had Fibrosis. Wasn't me.

Jstacy, A sincere thank you to you. I also will apolgize for my response to you. It was negative. I personally feel this board is too pro-Bash because of one person. Some responses go overboard ( as mine did) and praise him without speaking to or using him. Even though you did not use him you spoke to him. As a combat vet I feel I have the right to express my thoughts on this board. I do not post as often as others as I wait to have valid knowledge of a subject before replying. Some don't. I was awarded 30% for my lungs and am appealing. According to my PFT ( of which the last C & P one was not included warrents 60%. I'm awaiting my recondiseration. I'm at 93% with errors in the last award so I'm fighting with the VA still. I can say it's been a long fight but feel I have been treated fairly but slowly. AO cancer is persumed. Bash knows this but that was his main write-up where he also suggested it might be from smoking.He completly missed blood test for DMII, which I was awarded on my own along with PN. He wrote small statement on DJD which was denied. Later awarded on C & P without Bash IMO. He wanted more money to write more. "I am sure he is not going to make up stuff about a diagnosis. There still has to be a medical nexus in order to substantiate any claim. It does not matter if it comes from the VA, an IMO." All nexus were there to substantiate claim which later were awarded. Berta, I have talked to Bash, got an IMO so is it not evident to you I HAVE HIS NUMBER. I do not need it thank you. I have no desire to talk to him again. You can pay him till the cows come home. I could care less. I'm sorry about your husband as I am for all affected Vets. The basic fact is I don't like or trust Bash and you do. Just accept the facts as they are and let it be. And do you really believe EVERYONE at the VA refused to read his IMO. I tried to disagree respectfully with you on Bash but your thoughts are so bias it is a shame and you don't hear a different opinion . I am entitled to my opinion as I have won that right as a Veteran. If you don't like my opinion then don't read or read and accept that it is my opinion. You know what it is and I have seen nothing to change it. As far as the name at VA you should know better than to ask. do you disclose names. 10th FO, Glad your case went well for you. sometimes IU can be a long fight. I personally feel the VA looks harder for information to deny you than approve you. So congrats. Now for Bash. Don't sound like you used his IMO because of the money. I have gotten about 8 emails that talked to Bash that didn't have the money and he REFUSED to do anything until he was paid. As far as him being in a wheel chair he is not the only Veteran with problems. To view him as unique is not how I look at it. I don't believe his wheel chair bound is from combat or service related but if I remember correctly it is from a diesease. I am not positive about the last statement but seem to recall him mentioning one time. It also sounds like you had other doctors involved in your case. Seems also you had your congressman helping you. So my question is now. How much did you pay Bash and how do you feel the Bash IMO helped the RO decide your case? There are many pro Bash people on this net that do not seem to offer THEIR OWN SUCCESS with Bash. Think there was 2. They rather look at BVA cases that involved multitude of records and opinions and say Bash won it. I'm sure his opinion did not hurt but probably, in my opinion, was not worth $2000. As far as bashing Bash I'm not. I stated my own opinion of his IMO and that he is in it for the money. Try to get an IMO on credit and pay when you get your award. If I was wanting to bash him I would tell you what I really think of him. There is 4 of us in Georgia here that have an experience with him and needless to say they do not care for him either. Again just my opinion. If I can save a Veteran a few dollars by not paying 2 grand for his IMO then I am happy. He is getting a reputation at the VA as a "Hired Gun." This is from a upper up at the Washington DC VA that I talked to about another problem. Again I am glad you won your IU and I am for the Veteran all the way. Not for network friends that stick up for each other and base their opinions on hearsay, not experience. Good luck in your future and hope your health lets you enjoy life for a long while.

I read where he wrote a great IMO but I have not received any feedback on his success in getting a claim awarded. Please post your claim granted by the VA based on Dr. Bash's IMO and what it was granted for. Jstacy, No need for an apolgy. You have your ideas and I have mine. Everyone looks at things differently. That's why these forums. And Vicki, I asked for "sucessful cases." How many besides yours are there in all these posts. Before you comment you should read the post.
