Well, yes. Congratulations, but dont go spending the money yet. I just got a BVA win on Jan 29, and the DAV told me I wouldnt see money for 3 to 6 months. How ridiculious is that??? First, of course, the board decision has to be implemented, and only then can you get paid.
I would like to see the VA do something simple for a change. I bet if they were to change a tire, they would have to have 8 cars there to help. One man to change the tire, another to tell him how to do it, another to check to see if he does it right, a superivisor for those 4, and a manager for that supervisor, a triage to make sure the car goes the right way, someone else to direct traffic, and, of course a media spokeperson to deny that the tire needed changed.
Thank you I understand. Lol 8 people

You wait for the envelope, and then decide whether to appeal. You may only appeal finally adjuticated deicisions, not remands. Yes you can appeal an "award", disputing the disability percentage or effective date(s).
Thank you .

God is Good! Hello Hadit Family!! I started my battle with the VA on May 12th of 2014 and I finally won my claim. I got the award letter out of the mailbox on Thursday August 1st 2019 (please forgive me for not posting the good news sooner, I was overcome with emotion and burnt out from this process). I wasn’t even going to file a claim but my mother, who is the driving force of my life has encouraged and supported me (physically, mentally and financially) throughout these last five years. It took countless hours of self study reading VA laws and regulations, court precedents, the M21 training manual and even using their own language against them (from the three denial letters that I received over the past five years) to finally get them to acknowledge my disability.
The VA rated me 50% direct service connection for Folliculitis for my face (and yes, I feel that this is a lowball rating which I will be appealing shortly). The surprising thing is that they also rated me 0% for Folliculitis for my “chest area” for a combined rating of 50%. Didn’t expect that, but I will take advantage of it since I already have the evidence to justify it established in the claims file. I never gave up, even after spending endless days crying in my room after each denial letter. My mother was always there for me to give me words of encouragement and keep me strong. I look forward to interacting with my new Hadit Family. This victory goes out to every veteran who has died while waiting for a claims decision and everyone currently battling the VA today with a pending claim. I will be on this site to share my knowledge and contribute as much as my disability allows me to (and yes, I do plan to file a claim for secondary conditions in the near future). I hope my success story encourages someone out there to keep fighting and to never give up for what you have already earned. Take care and have a blessed day!!!

No timeframe gotta love that answer it’s even better when you ask 1800 people or call the board directly they’ll say you’ll know sooner then later. I had mine advanced and it was about 2 months later until I had the decision in my hand which seems forever but in the present system in 2016 lightning fast...
Thank you, it's something to hold on too every case not the same, but info helps a lot.

Your appeal is at the Board of Veterans’ Appeals, waiting to be sent to a Veterans Law Judge. Staff at the Board will make sure your case is complete, accurate, and ready to be decided by a judge.
How long until a judge is ready for your appeal?
Your appeal is Advanced on the Docket. This could be because you are older than 75, because you are suffering a serious illness or are in financial distress, or for other sufficient cause.
Advanced on the Docket appeals are prioritized so that they’re always at the front of the line. Your appeal will be sent to a judge as soon as it’s ready for their review.

One of my highest priorities is assisting you with your own individual concerns. In Congress this is referred to usually as casework.
Casework can come in all forms depending on your needs. But where I can especially assist you is with questions and concerns relating to our federal government and agencies. Just some examples are issues receiving Social Security or Medicare benefits, difficulties with visa and other immigration applications, and questions on veterans benefits.
Although I cannot mandate a particular result or override a decision of a federal agency, I can often assist in answering questions, finding solutions, cutting through red tape, and just ensuring that you receive a fair and timely response to your concern. And often, through my casework, I am able to identify areas where procedures or the underlying law should be changed.
To assist you with your concern, please begin our casework process by:- Completing as much of the online form below as possible.
- Completing and returning a Privacy Release Form . The Privacy Act of 1974 (5 U.S.C. § 552a) requires that Members of Congress have written authorization before they can discuss your case with a federal agency, so completing this form is an essential part of the process.
- Preparing to discuss your case with my staff, including gathering all the key documents.
- My staff will reach out to you with any questions and next steps.
PLEASE NOTE: Congressional ethics rules require that in most cases I can only undertake casework for my actual constituents, meaning residents of Hawaii’s First Congressional District (O’ahu from Makapu’u Point through urban Honolulu to Mililani and down through Waipahu and ‘Ewa Beach/Kapolei/Ko Olina to Kahe Point). If you live elsewhere in Hawai’i, I may have to ask you instead to contact Senators Schatz and Hirono and Representative Gabbard for assistance. This is specific to casework: my commitment remains to assist Hawai’i overall whenever and however I can and to welcome and reply to questions, comments and input from all Hawai’i residents. -
