Vike,
From what the letter said, I thought that the 70%(which went into effect Jan.24) would be paid Feb1 and the 100%(which went into effect Feb.14)would be paid Mar.1, which would make the 100% payment for Mar.1, Apr1, and May1. Is this not correct?

Yes, I knew that. The award letter says "70% effective date Jan 24" with payment start date Feb1 and "100 IU effective Feb 14" with payment start date Mar1...so they paid 4109 which if we calculated correctly should have been 5938 which is one month short. Is it because we're in the month of May still?

Called the bank yesterday and we had received back pay, however, it was one month short. Any ideas on what to do?

Are the Military ID cards for 100% sc veteran, the same as a retired military ID card? Can a 100% veteran use all facilities on base such as...bowling, theater, veternarians for your pets, pharmacy & etc..., or is there limitations?
Thanks

Thanks everyone,
I was looking at this from a DIC standpoint as well. He actualy worked at the VA hospital, and a shrink there said, during the "fitness for duty exam", that he was not able to work at all from his mental condition, which at the time was sc'ed 50%. So, hopefully that's locked in. We did however, at the same time that he put in for an increase for the mental, he put in for heart condition. The heart condition was denied and the mental increase from 50 to 70 but got 100 PTIU.
Hope this clarifies what I was trying to say.
Thanks,

Finally got a knew computer so everything is not going black at the bottom. I wrote in last week about my husband getting 100% and what was needed for the ID cards and so forth. We have now got all that taken care of, waiting on forms for me to apply for CHAMPVA, but I think we have everything else. Now, here's my question....
He recieved 70% but paid at the 100%PTIU for mental, however he was denied for his heart. Should he appeal that decision and if so what will happen. Can they take back the 100%PTIU or is it safe?
Thanks,

Husband went from 50% to 70%, but granted to 100% IU with no future exams. Is this the same as TDIU or P&T or what? Also, the letter came today, so do we use that to go to the base for ID's, or is something else needed? One more thing, when can I apply for ChampVA?
Thanks,

Hi,
Am I the only one having a hard time reading the forum?
If I click on a topic to read, after it comes up, I scroll down then the bottom half of the area goes black. Then when I hit the back button to go back to the topic list, the bottom half of the list is black and can't be read. What am I doing wrong?

If you get a prescription from an outside dr. and it is not on the VA formulary list, is there any other way they can get the drug for you?
Thanks,

When you put in a claim for IU, your employers are sent forms to fill out. If they don't fill them out, is there a time limit they are given for filling out forms? If so, how long is that and what happens if they don't fill them out?
Thanks,

If you are 100% IU sc for Major Depression and you hit a period where you are feeling better, will they reduce your percentage and when you get worse again, increase the percentage back to 100%?
Thanks,

Hello,
My husband put in for an increase in Jan.07, and just had a C&P Feb. 24. Before the C&P, he received the letter from the VA asking if he needed to submit anymore information or if that was all and they included a form for IU. Well, he did become unemployed from the VA for his sc condition, so he also filled out the IU form. My question is, will this hold up the process for an increase? Is there a seperate C&P for IU? Any information is appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks everyone for your help.
We are still working on the IU form. They sent a letter with 3 aspects to address...
1. claim increase from 50% for major depression
2. wanting any and all information about his heart disease(he put in for secondary on this issue).
3. they sent an IU form
Is this normal, to send an IU form when he did not put in for IU. He since putting in for this in Jan., has became unemployed because of his depression. He is scheduled for a C&P this sat., is there a seperate C&P for IU or will this be determined then as well?
Thanks,

Trying to fill out the form for IU and need some help.
My husband(VA employee) was told to leave his job on teh 9th. He had a fitness for duty exam, and the pych dr. wrote he was unfit(which he is 50% for depression), he was forced to use this week as a vacation week, which is all the time he had left.
He had put in for an increase in Jan. and is scheduled for C&P the 24th, he also put in for heart disease secondary. They sent him the letter about having more papers to submit or not, as well as the IU form. We don't know why they sent that at this time because he did not put in for IU.
Question.....on the IU form where it says last day worked.....does he put the 9th or what does he put? He has not been officially terminated yet, but was told not to come back because he is unfit for his job.
Thanks,

I can't remember all of what the regulation said, but could someone point me in the direction of the regulation about a condition causing a SC condition to become worse, so the condition is also rated. This might not be the exact way this reads, but it's something along that line.
Thanks,

Thanks everyone for the response.
He is scheduled for a C&P on the 24th. I guess this is for the increase for the mental. They also sent a paper about IU for him to fill out. He is not working his federal job now, but is considered this week as a vocation week. This was all the time he had left and actually a -11.5 hours of sick time. He has already talked to SS as well and needs to finish filling out the paper work for the IU. His last day at his job was the 9th. They do not have light duty for him.
Thanks,

My husband is currently 50% sc for depression, but put in for an increase. He is in process of being unemployed from a federal job because of his depression. At his "fit for duty" exam, the pysh. dr. wrote that he was "not fit because of his depression". My question is...would this be automatically 100% sc.
Thanks

My husband got an increase on his sc mental disability from 10% to 50% last May, he since then has gotten worse so he put in for another increase along with applying for something secondary to the mental. My question is if he gets the mental to at least 70%, would the increase for the mental be treated as a knew claim or would they go back to the increase of last May?
Thanks
