  1. that is YOUR bank they all get them on the same day nationwide it's all electronic it's up to them when they post them they are not supposed to be posted until the 1st unless the 1st is a holiday or a week end so the fact that many of them posted early Saturday morning indicates the feds sent the electronic lists out late friday night or early saturday morning

    Test,

I get another check(Civil service) that was listed today as processing with date of 3/1.

  2. Kansasguy,

Wear jeans and a tshirt or whatever you wear on a normal day. It doesn't matter what you wear, its whats wrong with you. These guys are pros and can see thru bull shit for the most part.

Why are you here? Because I have PTSD.

They may ask you for a stressor, something that happened and stayed with you. No big deal if you have any ribbins for combat--CIB,CAR, PH, etc.

They may ask about your childhood and growing up. I said my childhood was good and my parents were great.

Read some of the info on the internet about PTSD and don't make up any stuff.

You don't have to cry like some people suggest.

If you weren't in combat I don't know what to tell you.

Good Luck and don't sweat it.

  3. I was a grunt with the Cav. so the stressors are no problems.

I hear that the CPT process requires a lot of work on the part of the vet. I don't feel like doing something that is intense and will drag up a lot of things that I tried to forget over the years. I want to go forward with my life and not backwards. If they had a program where I would be hypnotized and I would forget that I was in the service, thats what I want. I don't need to relive the past.

  4. I filed a claim for CAD in Jan 09 and was denied. I had a blockage and a stent was put in. I reopened this claim in June 09. I was notified at least 4 times since then that they were working on my claim. I hope I'm still around when they these claims are settled.

  5. I see a lot of people going through the CPT process now. Is this something that the VA wants to push out there for the PTSD vets? The counselor the vet center wants me to do this.

I told him I submitted an NOD for my 50% PTSD and my denial for IU.

Will not doing this hurt my NOD?

I really don't want to go thru 12 weeks of more BS going over stuff I try to forget.

I have my little world that seems to work for me and I think I am doing OK without doing this.

Going to the MH department at the VA every month to review my meds and going to the vet center every 3 weeks is as much as I deal with.

    Bill

  6. Papa,

I can talk from my own experiance not the law. I have had multiple claims submitted at different times. I put in a claim for PTSD and IU while I was waiting for a claim on CAD(now IHD). I got the PTSD, the IU was denied and the IHD one is still pending. I was worried that the IHD would hold up the PTSD but it didn't.

  7. Guys,

I retired from the PO last April because I couldn't do it any longer. I was told I wasn't eligible for disability retirement because I was already eligible for regular retirement. I retired because I had a 90% blockage of the LAD and a stent was inserted and I also was seeing someone at the Vet center for PTSD which had flaired up again.

I couldn't take the BS at work and didn't want to have a heart attack over the mail and I wanted to kill upper management. I had the panic attacks and all the other BS that goes MH issues.

I have done nothing since I left the PO.

I was rated 50% in Jan 09 for AO related things. I filed a claim for CAD and was denied last April.

After going to the Vet Center for a few months I filed a claim for PTSD in late June and got 50% in Jan of this year.

    I am now at 80%.

I had two C&P exams in Aug of 09. First one IU and the following week for PTSD.

The nurse for the IU exam said in her report that I could do sedentary work. I told her that was the type of job that I had at the PO and I was unable to do it any longer. I said I could sit for 10 min at a desk and then I would have to get up and take a break and chill out

for 20. I told her my PTSD prevented me from doing as sedentary job. I said I don't feel that I can function in the workplace.

I go to the DAV on Friday to file for an increase for PN on my legs and a claim for IHD.

I can't imagine getting much for the IHD because the stent and the meds seem to be working.

I may go to a private MH doctor and also file for IU again, Not sure.

  8. I am happy that I was granted 50% for PTSD and am now at 80%. I don't want to complicate the situation but here I go.

I was refused IU because the examiner for my C&P said I could do sedentary type work. I told this person that I could sit at a desk for 10 min and then take a 20 min break. I stated that I could not sit for longer that 10 min at a time because of PTSD issues. I also said that no one except a family member would put up with that situation and I didn't have a family member that had a business and would hire me. I told the nurse I was unable to do sedentary work. I said if I could do that type of work I would still be working at my old job.

I am filing a claim for an increase for my PN in my legs for which I have medical documentation.

I am also filing for CAD/IHD again. I had a stent put in last year and the VA will probally say I'M cured now that I have a stent.

I really don't want to reopen the PTSD issue because as everyone knows its a bummer. I feel I could get 70% but I don't want to drag in family and old friends into this issue with statements and such.

I was thinking of seeing a private shrink for these issues and to make a paper trail for my case.

When I filed for IU, I thought that with my physical issues conbined with the PTSD that I had a chance but I guess I was wrong.

I don't know which way to turn right now but I have time on my side.

    Bill

  9. I have not been around much during the last few months. This was due to my mom being diagnosed with small cell lung cancer last Apr. She fought with it until approx 2 AM this morning at which time she passed away.

I want to thank all of my Hadit friends for keeping me sane during this time as no matter what kind of day we had with her just a peek at the Hadit site reminded me that when she passed I was still loved by my wife and family and all of my Hadit family.

Thank each and ever one of you that brought a smile to my face during these trying times.

I should be back in a couple to three weeks.

    Ricky

    Ricky,

    My prayers are with you.

    Bill

  10. I was granted 70% SC and was on SSD and the VA denied my TDIU the first time. Don't give up. If you are 80% and can't work due to your SC problems you will get TDIU if you work at it. Are you getting SSD? I would apply for it if I don't have it based on my SC disabilites. When the VA grants TDIU they know you will never work again. They also know that you will get P&T one day. This is going to cost them. They try and wriggle out of it.

    John,

I worked for the PO and retired under civil service last year after I had a stent put in. I couldn't take the BS anymore and I didn't want to have a heart attack over the stupid mail. I'm one credit short for SS and I don't think it would look good if I had some part time job for 3 months while filing for IU. If I felt that I could work I would still be a manager in the PO.

I thought that I reopened my CAD clain when I filed for PTSD but I guess I didn't. I will reopen that along with a request for an increase in PN for my legs. I had an EMG or whatever its called and my PN is now moderate,up from mild, so I think that be 20% instead of 10%.

Even if they approve these two claims the overall % wouldn't move much.

    Bill

  11. Yes, appeal the TDIU - never say die when they deny.

    Pete/Bonzai

Yes I am going to file for IU again.

I was denied CAD last year and will file for IHD again.

Also filing for PN increase on feet, I had a new ENG and doctor said my condition has moved from mild to moderate.

    Bill

  12. Bill did you have a c&P exam through the VA I am just now starting the process and would like to know how the exam goes can you tell me what the exam is like? - Loma Linda Bill

    LLB,

My C&P was by a Psych Dr. at the VA.

Initally I called a friend that works as a Vet Officer at a local college. I asked him if he knew anyone at the VA that deals with PTSD.

He gave me the name of someone at the VA and set up an appointment. I was evaluated and given another appointment and refered to the Vet Center. The lady at the VA went over a lot of questions from my childhood to the present. All this info was entered in the computer. I went to the Vet Center every 2 or 3 weeks and talked to a counselor for at least an hour.

I filed a claim in June of 09 and I had started a paper trail in May of 09. I had a C&P in Aug and it lasted about 25 min. It seemed short but it worked. Don't worry about the exam. Read up on PTSD and you will see where you fall as far as ratings.

Good luck and if I can help contact me.

    Bill

  13. I was talking to a Vet friend of mine who gave me some advice when I was filing my claim for PTSD. I told him that I got 50% and he asked me if I thought that was fair. I thought about it and I said that it was ok at the present time in my life. Its not worth the effort or the stress to fight for more. I said if I got 30% I would have fought it.

I said that if I knew about PTSD and filed a claim in the 1980's that I would have gotten at least 70%. I have gotten mellow as I got older. Things still bother me but not like they did 25 years ago. Its an effort today to act right all the time. I know I burned a lot of bridges that can't be repaired with people but thats life. As I think back all the people that hate me or dislike me never went to war.

My wife stuck by me all these years and I will try to be a better husband every day.

    Bill

  14. I received a letter from the DAV saying that I was granted 50% for PTSD and I am considered competent.

Also entitlement to a bunch of little things.

    Entitlement to IU denied.

    Nothing mentioned about IHD

    I am now at 80%.

I checked my online account and the money is there.

    Thanks to everyone.

    Bill
