  1. devildog2061 It took my claim a little over 36 months I did call my VSO and got movement but that was a initial claim on side effects and a tdiu deferral so on an appeal and perhaps others can chime in can take a little longer but withstanding I hope for your sake it moves fast. Keep the faith and stay positive and check up on your case regularly I mean call and go in person every so often.

    Thank You for your service

  2. Sorry MarkIntexas the Texas Veterans Commission located upstairs next to the raters is 713-383-2756 ask for any available so they put you on hold or leave a message with one to contact you then make arrangements to transfer authority over to the them as they are a state of Texas department for Texas Vets not the federal government they have a little more power than the other I think I mean other organizations that help with claims.

  4. Definately make sure you get on the horn brother it took them three weeks after I did they are supposed to process by order of date meaning the older the claim is they are supposed to process it first On the humour if you do get it into the museum I will definately sing to the chronicle as a humming bird see see see and point as a hunting dog!

    hang in there brother

  5. During one of my CP exams I gave them documentation from the internet that I had carefully researched on the internet hi-lighting the portions relevant to my claim and it wasn't until I recieved my award of 100% PT that I perused what they used and discovered that they did indeed include the documents I downloaded from the internet by various medical professionals as evidence so wanted to make everyone aware of this as I think going back sometime Berta had mentioned this. The internet if you have it is a valueable tool even if you don't have someone in your family definately does have them help if need be. At the least I don't know how much it weighed but definately accounted for something as they reviewed and rated my claim

  6. Thanks ALL I need to reinstate the fact for all that if your case is in excess of two years or more with the VA in Houston they do have a dedicated team that is supposed to be working on these alone I have noticed some like Papa whom post out of San Antonio you need to follow-up with your representative mine was the Texas Veterans Commission and from them I learned of this. My claim was about 36 months and most likely sit buried under a stack the older your claim the more likely with the right prodding they will pull it up. The Houston VA is under some fire from the Houston Chronicle whom are watching them and writing articles in support of us all you can google it and read so the public at the least around here is being made aware of the plight of us vets in dealing with the VA and getting our claims processed.

Now I still have to fight for the periods of 1997-2001 which they totally have ignored three times now but at the least they have awarded 100% P&T as my health had declined rapidly and under-went four more surgeries since 2008 as well as more side effects from treatments so I have that victory but am praying for you all as all of us need the compensations we are entitiled to period. They can give trillions to the banks it is time they take care of their veterans.

  7. Would be helpful if the programming department at the VA thoroughly tested their work it always amazes me the differinces between the private sector way of doing things and the governmental approach for instance having formally before my disability have been a senoir programmer anayst as well project manangement and team leads if we ever released an application update that well falls flat on its face with mistakes the ceos and upper echelon would have a ...fit. One rule of thumb they ignore perhaps because of percieved job security is the fact that no one well remember that your application is working but that they will remember how erronous the data (information) was displayed thus degrading the reliability of the system they should have never released the app for prime time until they thoroughly tested and stress tested it + you need a team of testers mimicking real time use. Because the ole it worked when we tested it is never exceptable in the private sector.

    Just food for thought

  8. Mine too on the spending bit our case on ebenefits processed looks like exactly the same time and speed you got yours one day before my 100% P&T my wife and did read your posts prior to and it took me three days to locate my logon and pwd we wanted to respond when your had anxiety waiting for your decision we had the same congrats to you and your family

  9. After a long process I finally recieved my brown packet and 100 % P%T retro March 2009 have been fighting with the VA system since 1997 of course it was a low ball but at the least a big victory so to speak although I havent posted much on Hadit Myself and my wife constantly did read all forums what I can share with those in the Houston area and those whose cases were sent to the houston VA rating activity I learned that all cases over two years now have a dedicated team to process them by order of date so I would would recommend that vets with claims older than two years contact the Texas Vet commision for follow-up as I have done after which it seemed in three weeks my claim was transfered from review of evidence - complete of course I had such a delay because of verification of work dates which took some time and My SSDI certainly helped along those lines nevertheless my file probably was placed in a stack collecting dust until finally someone stepped in. I will have to perhaps seek outside help for 1997 - forward as after three attempts it appears obvious the rating activitity will not read my medical files but are relying on a silly and you know what decision rendered back then + I still havent been rated for my illness just the side effects but none the less a good victory. also so many of you whom have posted your sense of humour and patience have help myself and family so greatly and eased any anxieties we had and we are definately going to pray for all to recieve decissions and awards which they are entitled to.

    Thanks all and God bless

  10. I was wondering as in my previous topic post am awaiting a decision for tdui after being invited to file

I recieved retro pay for the periods of Oct 2001 - current but I had decisions rendered back in 1997

that rated me less than 10% and am wondering how to file a claim claiming the same condition for

Chronic Actinomycosis as underwent exactly the same treatments and conditions that have today.

If the VA admitting the CUE for the current retro how easy is it to get them to go back to 1996?

Also hope that I havent offended anyone on the board via my technical advice just wanted to

help and use what is left of my art in computers to help all and any by way of advice.

    Thanks in advance
