Thank you all very much! I saved part of the check for rainy days and paid off 1/5 of my house with the rest. Anyone had experience with VA refinancing? I have a regular FHA 30 year fixed now, looking to refi w/ VA loan for 15.

I got up this morning and checked my account..I GOT IT! Havent got the letter but the direct deposit hit !!

"That's because it is pending authorization for 2 issues which were granted. The SOC will come out with the two grants" I got this from my DAV rep, 2 days ago I sent NOD for SC migraines to increase and TDIU. Was decided on 23Nov10. 17 days and waiting..Im on pins and needles! The VA said 10-40 days is the average time for final authorization. Im hoping so.

Called VA, they said they sent a SOC on 24Nov10 both to my DAV rep and to me. I havent received it so they are resending it. Is this the same as an award letter?

13 days since decision 17 more to go til authorization is final. The days are dragging by. Does 30 days sound about right for final authorization?

Your appeal is in authorization and we are just waiting for it to complete. I got this email from my DAV rep on friday, this is good news right?

They said 80% which is the same. Ive waited 27 months so I guess 30 days more wont hurt. Ill just be really relieved when its all over. No more C&P exams, having to call the DAV to get stuff done ect. Ill just be happy to get the check every month and have little or no contact with the VA for the rest of my life...We've been living on 1600 per month or less for a very long time so the extra money will really come in handy although I dont really plan on changing my spending habits.

I called but they say they wont know anything for 10-30 days while the decision and retro(if any) is being authorized. Gonna be a long 10-30 days..

I received a Ch35 info booklet and application for benefits in the mail today. I wonder if that is a good sign?

I was lucky, very lucky. If I could give advise to other Veterans it would be "KEEP ALL PAPERWORK SENT AND RECEIVED WHEN DEALING WITH THE VA" if you dont have the paperwork, it didnt happen or it wasnt done! I emptied out the rubbermade container and now it is my file for all paperwork dealing with VA issues (in chronological order).

I talked on telephone with VA they said my NOD was decided 23nov10 and is at the final stages of authorization an estimated 10-40 days before I hear anything. Is this about right or does the left hand not know what the right hand is doing at the VA...again?

I got the email the day before thanksgiving and I called the VA the day after thanksgiving. I hope everything gets through the authorization process without any problems Naturually Im kinda worried about that. I tried the 1800# Monday and today to see If I could get any info but the call center is too busy. It says to try later.

Is there a site I can go to for a list of benefits? Will I get a MWR card or dependants eligible for champva?

After giving up on this for months I stumbled across a rubbermade container that I had. Inside was the complete fax transmital sheet and #s where I had faxed my divorce papers from Pak Mail in Cerritos California to VARO Los Angeles way back in 01. I copied and sent this to Henry Whipple Bldng (Dept. Management) and they erased the dept. Im so glad Im a pack rat now!

I dont know about the retro, I filed for TDIU in Aug 08 got denied May09 filed NOD May09, how far will they go back? To the original file date or the NOD date?

The VA still has not placed your POA throughout the system. I will try again on Monday to fix that. I saw your appeal is completed and they granted 2 items. Migraines and individual unemployability. I don't know what percentage for the migraines nor the dates. They did not give us a copy since our POA was not in the system. I will work on this Monday. I have a copy of the POA and will get it in the system. Have a great holiday and you will get your letter probably next week. I received this from my DAV rep. I called to check on it and the VA said decision was made, its pending authorization. What does this mean? How long does it usually take?

Really though, Ive lived with just what the VA paid me for so many years and have trimmed my budget and spending habits the TDIU will probably be more money than I would spend per month and would build up a decent savings finally.

Thats a strange situation, I worked since I was 15, went into Navy at 20 did 10 years and got out. I havent been able to keep much of a job since I got out 2001. Maybe 3000 per year for 3 years and no work at all since 05. When I called the SS people they said I did not qualify because I didnt pay enough in on certain quarters or something like that. I called the VA to see if they have sent out a letter yet and was told " the decision has been made but needs to be authorized" something about checking it for mistakes before it gets approved and award letter sent, But that was the National Call center and Im hoping my DAV rep has a little more insight into the whole thing.

Usually how long does it take to hear something from the VA once a NOD has reached the DRO's desk? I was told the NOD went to DRO's desk 15Nov10.Im 50%depression/anxiety/agoraphobic, 30%migraines,30%Coranary artery disease. FIled for TDIU AUG08 was denied.Went to Voc. Rehab. and was told I was UNEMPLOYABLE due to service connected health conditions and they fowarded the letter to the NOD file.Im going through the Atlanta VA..

I finally got my SMR's along with my entire "C" file, however there are things missing namely the only time I was admitted into the hospital. One of the lab results is there as it showed very high cardiac enzymes but nothing as far as My being admitted through the ER, the records of my inpatient stay or my discharge summary with stress test. How can I go about telling the VA that these records are not complete?

I am wondering if its time to get a lawyer..the VSO of the DAV really doesnt seem to give a crap...acts like most VA employees..any advice?
