You could be 100% for one issue and the military can discharge you for some other issue at 20%. Then the VA rates you at 100% back to the day of discharge. The military has successfully dumped you, and handed you off to the loving arms of the VA.
John
I thought I read under the new rules that the military had to rate you for all condtions makeing a service member undeployable. I just trying to find that law its been a change recently.
Thanks,

Hello All,
I have not been on hadit in a while but thats another story. My next door neighbor had been rated at 10 percent for what SSA says he was disabled for. I helped him do his claim for increase and it was raised to 20 percent ( no money because he is retired coast guard) and other items defered. I told him to chill out and not worry or do his appeal intil he heard from on his defered claims. He asked me again last week what I charged for helping out I told him one bottle of Jim Beam for every 10 percent of 50 percent. You all need to remember that retires get no extra money if they are less the 50 percent. Well today I recevied 2 HALF GALLONS ON JIM BEAM. He was rated at 70 percent but also rated at 100 percent IU and got 35,000 220 dollars in back pay. So I figured After drinking a quart of the Jim Beam I would share this great news with yolu all. Please forgive my spelling but I am very Happy tonight. To think if the VA wlould have been fair with me I never would have found hadit. The VA screws it self by not being fair to vets all the do is make VA reps out of all of us.
Thank god for hadit willie says thank you all

As some of you know I go to a depression group on Mondays. In group one of the guys was talking about his claim. I asked him to bring in his rating sheet. He was rated for 10 percent for Acid reflux with hital hernia. He was turned down for PTSD.
I asked him who put him in for PTSD he mentioned a name of a national known charter origination. After talking with him I realized he did not have a claim for PTSD but he did have a claim for depression. He was treated in the Army and by the VA. So we did a claim for a increase and changed his PTSD claim to depression. He acid reflux went from 10 percent to 30 percent and they deferred his claim for Depression till they get all the records. The gentleman called me today and I am on cloud 9. Every time somebody wins that I help out I feel like I won. This gentleman is a Vietnam era vet but not a Vietnam vet.

Correct me if I am wrong, and I know you will!!
I was told over the phone that because of my 100% rating, that my
CRDP will be paid at 100%, I also read this on the internet, still learning please let me know
I also found that claiming CRSC is an advantage because it is not taxed
You can only claim one or the other if u qualify for CRSC that is the way to go.
Any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Are you rated TDIU? I see you have an 80% rating. If you are TDIU then you can get dental care. If not you have to show an injury to your teeth and/or gums. The VA guards dental care like Ft. Knox. They will yank a tooth but beyond that you need to SC'ed for it or be 100%.
No
I am not IU want to work as lonf as I can trying to save money I know that the day I can no longer work it will take 2 to 3 years fighting the VA to get IU. my goal is to work intill i am debt free then keep working till the Dr says I am done. Or intil I get a drug test at work then they will probally put me out of work
jim
PS was turned down for voc rehab because I was working. I am going to school under the new GI bill afraid I will fail out tho. Do u know If I fail out will the VA come after me for the money they spent?

What are you looking for on your claim for teeth. Dental Care or fix the temp or a rating?
Your first claim should go through routinely the 2nd maybe not.If all you want them to do is fix it I would go to Dental Clinic and ask them to fix it. They did it they should fix it.
Pete53
I did not know I could get a rateing for it. I want my teeth fixed. I have gum problems do not know the exact termnolgy.

My VA primary care doctor was the first one to send me to mental health;
Here is my claim
Department Of Veterans Affairs
VA Regional Office
210 Franklin RD
Roanoke VA 24011
Dear Sir
Please consider this as an additional claim for depression Secondary to my service connected Intervertable Disc syndrome. All medical records are at the VAMC Hampton Virginia. Also consider this to be a request for Service connection for my teeth and gums. I was fitted with a temporary plate for my teeth in 1985 and I am still wearing the temporary plate.

I hate to ask this question of you all but I really need help with this question. I am trying to help a Vietnam Vet that is in my Monday morning group. Can Sleep apena be SC secoundery to PYSD? He is currently rated at 30 percent for PTSD and lo w balled on type 2 diabeties and prosate cancer for 60 percent total. We are going to ask for a increase in the diabeties and the prosate cancer but if we can win the sleep apena it schould be a slaim dunk for IU.
Thanks in advance for any help anybody can give

Oh, wow, Congratulations and this reassures us that there is hope out there. That extra few months was simply a correct amount and someone was looking out for you-all!
Question? Did this IU (denovo/DRO/review?) require a second c&p exam or series of exams? If so how were the re-exams? thanks.
Again, way to go ~ !
Cg'up2009!
no His was had a DRO hearing. I testifed for him. His VA advocate was not available so MR Bob Andrews (yes I am putting his name out there) a great advoicate the BEST from the Virgina Vets commsion I think it was represented him. No new C+P exams just off what the VA all ready had.

I am an active duty infantrman with the US ARMY. I would just like to start off by saying that I am using this site for the vast amount of information available. I am going to try and research and find out exactley what is going to work best for me.
I was injured in Iraq during OIF 5. I was sent home and had to have my gallbladder and a hernia removed. I was injured more recently at a range at work and tore two ligaments in my shoulder and cracked my rotator cuff. I had surgery on the shoulder with no improvement. I got my letter of intent today for a MEB. I have had a few soldiers go through this process and I will give a brief over view of how it was explained to me. Now instead of doing your VA claims after you get out they make you do them before you get out. It takes a little longer but its supposed to eliminate the problems I see many of you going through. I will type below the info given to me.
A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS I HAVE:
Should I include the injuries from the gallbladder, hernia, hearing loss, and the shoulder all at the same time? Am I actually going to get anything from these problems? I am going to try and appeal the MEB so I can stay in but is that really going to be beneficial?
I just got my Letter of Intent for my medical discharge today. I am at the house trying to print off and find all my military medical records. Now I get to start the 6 month MEB process.
I got injured twice during my last deployment to Iraq. Everything was fixed (to a certain degree) and back on the training pipeline I went. I had orders for Warrant Officer Candidate School and was awaiting that.
Then I fell at a M240/M249 automatic weapon range. I tore two ligaments in my shoulder and cracked my rotator cuff. I have had surgery and its just not getting better. I have done approx. 7 months of physical therapy total and the medical doctor told me today that she felt I was not fit for duty in my MOS. I agreed with her conclusion and received my official request for MEB.
The process is a long one. You get assigned a Physical Evaluation Board Liason Officer. PEBLO for short. The peblo puts together a list of all the things the military has done for you and not done for you for medical care. They compare your entry physical, give you a new two part physical, compile all that data and send it to the PEB board in TEXAS. The PEB board determines wether or not your fit for military service. They dont care what your restrictions within your MOS are they only determine if your eligible to stay in the military. If they determine you can stay in than you get the option of getting out or reclassing into another job.
The only disadvantage to reclassing into another job is the fact that its a needs of the army reclass. They look at what army jobs have the highest shortages and they mix that with what you can do with your profile limitations. I am going to entertain what they have to say. While your paperwork is there they also stick a percentage number on you. That is the amount of disability you will get paid when you get out.
Once all that info is decided and put into writing I get to choose my future. If I like the number they come back with and I can get a job on the outside I will more than likely just make the hop back on the civilian train and keep trucking from there. I have alot of money coming my way from the GI BILL and have decided I would like to entertain the idea of looking into other educational options aside from my already completed course of study.
ANY INFO WOULD HELP! THANKS
Welcome and thank you for your service. This is one of the most inmporant thing you need to due is MAKE THEM MEDIACAL RETIRE YOU AT AT LEAST 30 PERCENT. The army may boot you out and give you nothing but servence pay. #0 percent is the majic number for health care for you and you familly. GET A JAG LAWYER NOW!!!!!!!!!! He or she can help you thru the process but 30 percent is what you need from the army the VA will give you more but you need a medical reteriment.
Good Luck

On April 30th I told you all about my old boss DRO hearing in Roanoke VA. When I first started comeing to this site he was rated at 20 percent. In the last 4 years we your help here at hadit it we got him to 80 percent. We filed the claim for IU in November of 07 he of course was turned down. We recevied the notice I think in Ocy 08. Don't quote me on the exact dates here just the retro date ok. We discussed his case and I decided to skip the DRO appeal and go stright for a DRO hearing. The problem we were haveing is his former employer would not fill out any paperwork saying why he lost his job for either him or the VA. On April 30th we both drove to roanoke for his hearing. I explaind how great I thought his VFW rep was before in a another post. Well on friday we called the 1800 number twice. You all know how sometimes you get 2 diiferent answers well same answer both time. IU awarded back to November 07. We due not know yet if it is P+T but really don't care at this point. He is retired AF and his wife already gets tricare and his kids are to old to go back to school. We have been working this case since the old board. This is the first Vet I ever worked with. HE WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP HIS HOUSE NOW THANKS TO HADIT. . Pete and berta you were the 2 who steped up the most to help this Vet when you go to sleep tonight remember someone will not lose there home to forclourse thanks to you 2 god bless

Hi,
You seem to really be helping people on hadit.com, especially Berta (this was originally a message to Berta but I see that person receives no messages).
My story is in a link below.

I see that your current % is 140. May I ask why you are going thru the trouble for something minor like sinus infections?? And yes, btw....I get those all the time. Few days of antibiotics and you're good as new.
Purple
I am 10 percent for sinuis infections but the reg states it schould be Higher if you get sinuis infection more the 6 times per year or on put on antibotics for more the 30 days at a time more then twice a year. I do not knoe his SC rate mine is 150 percent but in VA math it is 80 one more 10 percent anywhere brings me to 90 so I am fighting on the sinus infection

Chronic Kidney Disease
in VA Disability Claims Research
Posted
Hi All its been a while. I have taken a break from fighting with the VA for about a year. I have 3 claims waiting on a DRO Hearing for over two and a half years. Today is my C+P exam hopefully that goes well.
Well on to my new question. I signed up for the my health website and was looking thru my blood test TODAY and found out I have Chronic kidney disease. Needless to say I am in shock. It shows up on my last two blood tests getting worse each time. Does anybody know if that is connected to working with jet fuels oil and hydrulaic fluid? I have no other factors for it. Nobody in my familly has any history of kidney disease. I due take oxicodine but only when needed and take less then I am prescribed. I figured it says take as needed so If I due not need it I due not take it..
Just one little thought. That is a shitty way to find out you have a disease. I think the VA should have called me and told me I has more health problema.
Thanks for reading this and any thoughts on this matter I love to here them
