  1. I was not in combat but I did refuel many of those planes that were spraying AO. I remember that the AO would drip from the nozzels while I was refueling and would get on exposed parts of my body including not only my uniform but arms, neck, and face a few times. I wish I could vote against that guy Webb who claims he supports veterans. Maybe they can send him down here in Louisiana and let him and his family swim in the gulf and then see what happens. I am proud of our folks who are niow in the military but I'm afraid in the long run they will end up being treated like the Viet Nam vets.
  2. I forgot to say that the doctor stated that there was three possible factors for the condition of the left knee: 1. Normal ageing 2. Weight (6' 4"; 215) and 3. The right knee. She gave equal weight to each one. I was given a 10% for the left knee and the right knee was bumped up from 30% to 60%. Just never give up
  3. I know what you are saying. My right knee was operated on while in the service (1968). I hurt the other knee in (1975) while on a weekend drill and just this past week got it service connected. The doctor said the magic words, "as least as likely as not." It all boils down to what the doctor says. Try and see a private doctor and tell him what you need and have him say "as least as likely as not." in his report. Don't give up. I had a C&P for knees and IHD and this was the first time that a VA doctor had actually examined my knees.
  4. My two C&P exams were done by PA's and they were the best. Exams were for knees and heart.
  5. Thanks ya'll. By the way the money came to the bank. I called the Regional Office and the lady stated the computer had no record of the award letter being sent but would see to it that one was sent.
  6. I am confused! As per the previous posts I applied for an increase on 30% right knee and secondary right knee. Still no letter but I went and saw my VSO today and she found out that I had gotten the right knee bumped up to 60% and 10% for the right knee. Total is 70%. The reason I am confused the bilateral factor. I read what it said, but I'm still confused. When the 60% for IHD comes in what will the final be for it all?
  7. The Dr. stated in C&P report that I was only for light work on each disability but stated that when they were all combined that I was unable to work, light or heavy. I plan to apply for TDIU when the IHD goes thru. I never thought I would ever see this day. In fact the doctor told me to apply for this.
  8. Vacation? What is that? We went to Disney World when our son was 5, he's 39 now. Going to pay a few bills and wait for the SC for IHD. Then again I'll probably take her to the Rainbow Room for fish (McDonald's for a fish sandwich). Monday I'm going to the VA and thank that female C&P doctor and kiss her.
  9. I had a C&P in February for IHD, hypertension, increase for SC (30%) for right knee, and SC for left knee as secondary to right knee. From previous experience I checked with the bank about once a week to see if any deposits were made. Low and behold I found that a deposit was made for the exact difference of 70%. My letter has not arrived, so I have to guess what the increase is for. Probably for an increase on right knee and left knee SC granted. I don't believe any is for IHD. God is good!
  10. Papa don't give up. I've had about 8 C&P exams over the years and have gotten only 1 real exam last visit. The VA says they are there for us but they haven't convinced me of that yet.

    Agent Orange

Went for C&P (IHD) in Feb. Doc said I would be rated at 60% when finally approved. Left ventrical was less than 50%. I had applied for an increase on my SC right knee currently rated at 30%. I've had 9 total surgeries on that knee (3 totals) and still at 30%. For about the 4th time I applied for SC on the left knee. I nearly fainted when I received copy of C&P, Dr. said the magic words "at least likely as not." I wrote this to encourage you not to never give up. Been fighting them since 1969.
