HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted June 13, 2007 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted June 13, 2007 I got my mail today and surprise that two packages from VA Meds by Mail were there. Unfortunately I got someone else's meds and someone got mine. I tried to call VA Pharmacy and after waiting about 10 minutes I got announcement that I was number 17 in line. I also noticed that the prescription was dated June 5th so I imagine this Vet may be hurting. The prescription is for tegretol a pretty potent med that was offered to me once and I refused it. I wish that there was something more I could do but it is raining cats and dogs and I will wait for a call back I guess. Meds by Mail Sucks!!!! SLEDGE
Pete53, As a lark today I tried the online prescription stuff again. The system has refused to recognize me for a long time. Well doggies, I have 5, countum, 5 prescriptions listed. Who knows what they are. I ordered refills on everything, heh-heh, let's see what happens now. One of them has 4 pills in it. That's either my bone density medication, which they have refused to fill, or Viagra, which they have refused to fill. I guess either way I get a bone density pill, huh? Yesterday I received a written notification that I have an appointment for another lab test, fasting. That equals 50 bucks for fuel and an extra 4 or 5 hours before I can take my morning anti-killya pills, which they don't prescribe either. I love it when a plan comes together. The last time I went there I forgot to leave my personal knife in the car and then the clinic security guard wanted somebody to talk to, he gets bored. I had my cane and the neck brace on, just like I'm supposed to, so the guard left me alone. Dressed like I was I coulda carried just about anything in there and gotten away with it. Sometimes I scare myself. sledge
jecsb4
Guy's I am sorry that you have been dealing these unacceptable issues. I have just started the mail syatem and so far have been lucky. The thing I find annoying is that I got a US mail slip to go to the PO and sign for some of my med. The medical provider I had seen never told me I would have to sign for it - otherwise I would have stayed at the VA and signed for the stuff. My USPO is further away from me than the VA. Also my RN told me that alot of time the MED you need to sign for turns up missing because alledegetly certain mail carriers know that this is not reg med and some how it turns up missing!! Toposurveyor
To all, It is a shame that there is so much trouble with the mail prescription program in some areas. I have all of my meds delivered by mail, 5 of them, and have had no problems. I call when I have 10 days supply left and that is all it takes. If there is any problem, I call the pharmacy and things are straightened out for me. I assist an local elderly vet with his meds. We do not use the phone refill system for him. Recently, either he or I failed to mail the refill request for his blood sugar test strips. I called the pharmacy and was advised that the Rx was filled that very day, even though the refill request was not sent! That is pretty good service if you ask me. I wish the best for all of you and hope that things get better with your mail Rx's. Ed
