IMO = Independent Medical Opinion which would be one that you have from civilian care or one you hire. In my opinion if the VA does it than it may not be Independent.

Search here for the criteria I posted on Getting an IMO-Independent Medical opinion-

VA will reject quickly any IMO that doesnt cover all the bases.

A private doc might provide one to you for free-

Otherwise they can be expensive but it might be the best investment you can make to get a claim propered resolved.

I recommend Dr. Craig C. Bash ( Google Medical Advisor)

(NeuroRadiologist)

or MedOps - on the net-

( they select a specialist in the filed if IMO you need)

both os these entities are fully versed in VA case law as to preparing a VA claims IMO.
