Question

Hi all

I am VA 90% service connected. I am in process of being rated for Diabetes, Hypertension and Anxiety and depression. First of all, is there any chance that the VA may rate me as 100%. If I apply for SSDI and if it is awarded, I receive a small pensionfrom my previous employers in England. Will the Social Security dept. offset this amount off SSDI payments though its a foreign award? Thanks in advance

Paco:

Welcome to Hadit. You can research your claim here and ask questions. Most Veterans who are awarded SSDI have a good chance of getting VA TDIU provided it can be linked to a Service Connected Disability.

Pete

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

A pension plan is a retirement plan. Social Security is a Retirement plan. No offset. A Disability insurance amount and SSD are disability insurance plans and they do offset to the amount of the SSD.

A Foreign plan should not be unless it is earned on US soil such as an US Embassy.

You still have to meet the requirements for SSD to file.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
