C&p For Ed On June 3rd

Question

I am still confused about my upcoming ED C&P on June 3rd. I guess it is a C&P exam. The VARO is sending me to the VA hospital for an examination for my claim for ED which I filed over a year ago. The VA Cardiologist told me I have ED and prescribed Vardenafil (Levitra). The small dosage that they give me really doesn't work that well. I tried to get them to prescribe Viagra, which seems to help a little better. The VA won't give me Viagra.

My ED has developed after my heart attack over 2 years sgo and have a claim for depression, anxiety , PTSD and ED. I am SC for my heart condition. I have been on SSDI for over 2 years.

My question is...am I wasting my time going to this examination and have the nurse, or whoever examines me, turn me down on my claim for ED. I am currently at SC 0%. I just don't understand why they would give me anything for my ED when I am at 0%. And if the pills work somewhat will they still deny you, or will they give you the monthly amount if the pills work.

I have read a lot of useful info on Hadit and there seems to be conflicting answers.

Thanks, Brian

ED when service connected is always at zero percent. However, once service connected you get SMC K for it which is about 97 bucks a month (take a look at the current comp rates on the VA website). So your call - 97 bucks or nothing!!!! to me it would be worth it.

Now with that said you provided that you are 0% for it. If that is true you should be getting SMC K already!!!! Cause as I provided service connection does result in payment of the SMC. Now if you are not then when you are service connected for it then you WILL receive the SMC payment. If your medical evidence concludes that the ED is secondary to your heart attack and the heart issue is service connected then your claim is valid and you should not have any problem. The exam for this will be a few simple questions. They will ask if you have ED, when it started, are you taking meds for it. Your answers should be yes I have it, it began right after my HA and the doc said it was due to my HA and the meds I take for it and yes the doc put me on &&&&&&& for it - sometimes the meds work and sometimes they don't. No one is going to ask you to drop your pants and prove it

Bottom line is 97 bucks will buy you a half tank of gas a month or a few cases of Bud Light or keep the electric company from cutting your lights off so once again you be the judge

Let not your heart be troubled.

Your ED C&P will be a Genitor exam. It will be private. I had it a few weeks ago. Then another at Gainesville, FL. Both were done by a very pleasant female doctor. You will be asked to drop your shorts and remain standing. In my case she put on her latex gloves and simply examined my package. She felt the testicles for soreness or tumors. She also examined my penis. (not at all like boot camp) She told me I was anatomically correct, and made the report for the Regional Office. No problem at all and very brief. I have no idea how long it will take for a decision. My ED is a result of taking anti-depressants for >20 years for PTSD. Most of these meds have sexual side effects, so if you are taking meds check them out on yahoo or google. Platonic life is a quality of life issue making the depression much worse. I've heard of the "K" award but knew nothing about it until reading the reply above. My wife is very understanding and is okay with it, I'm not okay with it at all.

If anyone has a cure for ED let me know!

$97.00! Are you sure? Hey, man that is a pittance! How could big brother put such a price on ED?

Once Virile, Vigorous and Potent. Now just memories.

Yes, it is 97 bucks. Every little bit you can pry out of the VA is good. It is an outrageously low amount.
