Form Letters From Va

Question

Today i received my third letter that VA is still processing my claim for compensation. Has anyone had this amount of letters sent regarding the processing of a service connected issue that was reopened with new and material evidence? If so, what was the final outcome.

Just my opinion--I believe those letters are computer-generated and mean nothing except that it is the VA's way of saying, "Don't call us; we'll call you."

I used to receive those letters after I filed my claim electronically and didn't file any substantiating documents during the first six months. I thought it was unusual that the VA was still working on my claim when I had not sent them anything to examine...

That was my experience, maybe they are really looking at your claim at this time. Good luck!

Ron

Yep...nothing to worry about. If they send you a letter requesting some type of information, comply with it. Otherwise, put the letter in your filing cabinet and carry on.

We too received these computer generated letters. We received them for 6 months at least. When the letters stopped coming then shortly after, they actually did start processing our claim. It has been 18 months and we still have no initial decision from VA. Sorry I don't have better news.

YUP, they are strictly computer-generated, paper-wasting, postage-using, kindling for your next fire.

I keep putting mine in my "paper re-cycling bin". I figure that in, oh, say, 15 years from now, every letter I get, every square of toilet paper that we use, will be my recycled "We're sorry it's taking so long...." letters from the VA.

They kinda remind me of the letters that I keep getting from the American Legion wanting me to "re-up" my membership.......'cept the American Legion does, occasionally, send me some sort of little "goody" like a keychain or a bumper sticker.........! The JWV just sends me bills, after the fact, seeing as how they have my Visa card info. Tight-wad Jews anyway! :P

The letters are the VA's way of proving (if you can call it proof) that they are keeping the veterans informed. If you took a survey you would see that this action, as all actions of the VA is hit and miss - some RO's do it some don't. I personally feel they are a waste of tax money and they need to be stopped. If the VA wants to prove their actions to congress then let them actually take some action.

So True Ricky, vets probably get the same letter that jstone has, (except for personalization). The letters are 'generic' and don't contain any information regards my claim for overgrown toenails and lower lumbar issues. Okay, no claim in for toenails, but ya know what I mean.
