Bay Pines Va - Florida

Question

I was at Bay Pines VAMC today and found this letter

on the tables in the waiting rooms of several different

sections there.

I have never seen these before, so it must be some-

thing new. I really question the part that states,

"In this program your own nurse will call you at set times

over a six month period to:

XXX

XXX

XXX

etc...

Maybe VA hired a thousand or so new "NURSES"

to implement this program.

Just passing this info along. If anyone else at a

different VA has seen this, let us know.

jmho,

carlie

Most probably a "new" thing at Bay Pines.

I haven't heard of it here at the Dallas VAMC. Although they follow me pretty closely with my MDD. I attend a weekly support group and get to see my psych doc every 3 months minimum, more often if need be.

This program at Bay Pines was most likely their response to the increasing amount of suicides in vets, especially those with Major Depression.

i know there is definitely nothing even close to this at the Dayton VA......heck, i can't even see a real pdoc because they don't have enough for all of the pts!!!! it's been years since i've seen one!

bay pines is way ahead on treatment....i'd love to be able to go there....
