Question

I took my wife to the VAMC today to get her enrolled in the VA health care system via ChampVA. I was told the application would be delayed because they don't have enough female doctors to treat women. What do you think of that? They are making continual cutbacks at the VAMC in Tampa. This is happening right in front of our eyes and it is going to get worse.

Why do they think that she can only be treated by a female doctor. My wife is being treated by a private male doctor and she and I are very happy and satisified by the care that we are getting by him. She has a multitude of problems and if he is not qualified for certain then he sends her to a specialist.

I think the VA must be afraid of lawsuits for past misdeeds. Or it could just be an excuse to discourage patients from coming to the VAMC.

Cutting back? Don't have enough doctors? How can that be? Aren't the politico and Nicholson touting a doubling of funding? That the VA is well funded?

Hmmm. Could it be that we are being LIED to?

I had to pass an entrance exam to enlist. They should know vets aren't stupid. But then, I hadn't thought that maybe THEY are too stupid to put it all together.

Sorry, no comment here to help anybody. I just couldn't resist.

My wife has Champ VA and is very satisfied with it. The advantage of recieving services at the VA is there would be no copay, ChampVA copay is 25%. I may have spoken out of turn concerning a

VA copay there may be one I'm just not sure.
