dicple13
I am diagnosed as having Chronic PTSD with major Depression and Generalized Anxiety with a Gaff score of 55. My question is what are my chances of receiving a decent rating and how much?
danang_1969
In my opinion it all depends on which state and regional office you fall under. My GAF is 35 and I'm 50%. I live in a chinchy state though. I have seen vets with GAF scores of 45 be 70% disabled.
carlie
I am diagnosed as having Chronic PTSD with major Depression and Generalized Anxiety with a Gaff score of 55. My question is what are my chances of receiving a decent rating and how much? The first hurdle is to receive SC for one of these 2 disabilities, VA only pays comp for one MH Disability. The gaf score plays into a PART of this but not all of it. Minimum comp for MH is 10 %. I can't guess on what you may receive. Getting it SC'd has to come first - if you get SC'd and feel your evidence should rate a higher percentage then you would NOD the percentage awarded. jmho, carlie

HadIt.com Elder rentalguy1 Posted November 20, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2008 My GAFs are 45-55 and I got 30% from the Nashville RO. It's currently under appeal for a higher rating.

Rentalguy my orginal rating was 30% and was increased to 50% after my NOD. Treating VA doctor gave me a 35 GAF and C&P doctor gave me 45 in the 10 C&P minute session, so they went by the treating doctor after I produced the treating doctor records in the NOD. HadIt.com Elder Pete53 Posted November 20, 2008 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted November 20, 2008 A GAF of 55 will usually end up around 30 to 50% but please remember that there are other components to your rating. Many on Hadit put to much stock in GAF.
