Length Of Time In Board

Question

I am familiar with the "hurry up and wait " and " they are trying to denying claims", but I have a claim that has been in for over a year and have had all the documents and been in rating since Feb. 10. The Regional Office DAV branch, claims they have a good record and rarely do claims exceed a year with rating boards turning over their cases in a month.

These really aren't too difficult as far as some people out there not having service documentation, the dots are connected really close on these claims from service connection to becoming more severe. So what is the problem? and please if you are going to say "no news is good news" let me know why.

and if this helps seeking aid and attendance/ SMC.

been in rating since.....

This is just standard VAola - It's not ready yet.

It can "be in rating" and the decision maker can decide to check something else.

rarely do claims...

Who ever told you this must have had a huge lump in their throat.

"the dots are connected really close on these claims from service connection to becoming more severe. So what is the problem?"

Many claimant's do have - or at least think they have, " the dots are connected really close".

Most problems with delays involve

1) backlog

2) New claims by recently discharged OIF/OEF veterans

3) VCAA Notice BS

4) Items crossing in the mail not being able to catch-up with your claim.

I had my hearing on Feb 4 2009 my lawyer told me today she talked to someone last week and BVA is just now starting to decide cases the hearings were held in 2007 so that tells me I am at least 2 years away from hearing if the BVA awards my claim, remands it or denies it, by the time they get done playing I will have been SC for 10 years

Test it does not tell you that you have another two years.

Veterans deserve real choice for their health care.

Pete I am just a simple math kind of guy if they are just now starting on BVA hearings held in 2007 when will they start doing the decisions for hearings held in 2009?

Depends on who is handling it mostly.
