Has anyone ever had SC for venereal disease?

Yes

What evidence was used?

A widow-member of hadit-used a death certificate and a strong IMO.(Emily)

She proved her husband had in-service venereal disease that contributed to his heart disease and caused his death due to heart disease.

She was awarded DIC.

If the VA service connects the venereal disease they will rate any residuals.

Many VD cases at the BVA.

Problem is sometimes the vet was treated with penicillin or something in the field and the medic never put this in their SMRs.

One vet I know told me his SMrs would reveal he had VD many times and this was all in his SMRs.

I however used the SMRs to prove to the VA he had first manifestations of diabetes in service due to a penile problem that could have appeared as VD to the medics.

He also got a strong IMO.

You would have to prove inservice venereal disease and that you have ratable residuals now that should be service connected.

38 CFR 3.301

VA will not SC residuals of pre-service VD.

GRADUATE ! Nov 2nd 2007 American Military University !

When thousands of Americans faced annihilation in the 1800s Chief

Osceola's response to his people, the Seminoles, was

simply "They(the US Army)have guns, but so do we."

Sameo to us -They (VA) have 38 CFR ,38 USC, and M21-1- but so do we.

I wonder if anyone has ever claimed that their military service "aggravated" their VD?

just kidding, of course!

"It is cold and we have no blankets.

The little children are freezing to death.

My people, some of them, have run away to the hills, and have no blankets, no food; no one knows where they are-perhaps freezing to death.

I want to have time to look for my children and see how many of them I can find.

Maybe I shall find them among the dead.

Hear me, my chiefs! I am tired; my heart is sick and sad.

From where the sun now stands, I will fight no more forever."

No, Larry, the VA did not aggrevate my VD, they installed it. It had to be the VA because I was a virgin THERE before the VA "put it to me".

Interesting.

Much more info than was required.

But, interesting, nonetheless! <_<

I've been dx and treated 4 times for VD. It's in my SMR. This happened in 1956 thru 1960. How do I filed for this now since i dont have symstoms or problems now, no residuals now. I was confided to the ship VD 4 times.

1) Venereal disease. The residuals of venereal disease are not to be considered the result of willful misconduct. Consideration of service connection for residuals of venereal disease as having been incurred in service requires that the initial infection must have occurred during active service. Increase in service of manifestations of venereal disease will usually be held due to natural progress unless the facts of record indicate the increase in manifestations was precipitated by trauma or by the conditions of the veteran’s service, in which event service connection may be established by aggravation. Medical principles pertaining to the incubation period and its relation to the course of the disease; i.e., initial or acute manifestation, or period and course of secondary and late residuals manifested, will be considered when time of incurrence of venereal disease prior to or after entry into service is at issue. In the issue of service connection, whether the veteran complied with service regulations and directives for reporting the disease and undergoing treatment is immaterial after November 14, 1972, and the service department characterization of acquisition of the disease as willful misconduct or as not in line of duty will not govern.

You must have residuals.

You wont be compensated for VD or any other disease/injury that has no symptoms/problems. Basically Va compensation is to compensate you for lack of earning capacity. VD in 1956 that causes you no problems or symptoms now is noncompensable, even if service connected. The same is true if you broke your foot..but it healed and you do not have pain, and you have no problems from your broken foot. Non compensable.

In a nutshell you have to have something called continuity to be compensated. Going back to the broken foot, if your foot that you broke in the service develops arthritis, or becomes so painfull you cant use it due to complications from the fracture, then you may get compensated. Continuity means you keep going back to the doc for treatment of the condition.
