Here it is:

http://www.vawatchdog.org/09/nf09/nfoct09/nf101909-1.htm

Let's keep it in perspective:

On one hand the VA management "looks the other way" when VA employees steal blankets from homeless Veterans. On the other hand the VA management tells congress that if they only had more money, they could help homeless Veterans by instigating new homeless programs and services because the VA "cares about its Veterans".

Do the VA promises to help reduce the backlog and reduce Veteran homelessness seem hypocritical to you too?

Dark horse

The issue is not unemployability. The issue is homelessness, and the fact is that a Veteran who's claim has been approved and he is receiving benefits, is less likely to be homeless than a Veteran who has a similar disability but is still waiting for the VA and has insufficient income to maintain a household. VA benefits could well be the difference between having money for rent or not, regardless if the Veteran is working or not.

I thought the issue was VA employees taking leftover items at a standdown.

The real issue is accountability, as is always the case with the VA.

I can be as mad about it as I want. Or, I can do something to change it.

Get the media involved? Nah, that don't work.

Get elected officials involved? Nah, that don't work.

Law suit? Yeah right.

Veterans comming together in Washington en mass? Could work. But no, we'd rather keep writing letters for another twenty years.
