How We're Always Talking About

Question

The incompetence at our VARO's.

This may seem petty as heck to other's but

I think it only goes to show the incompetence at every

level, to include the bottom line workers.

I just got home from taking a buddy to the VARO

to submit a NOD along with 24 pages of information.

We ask for date a stamped copy of each page.

So the lady date stamps each page, then makes the copies

and hands them to my buddy, who inturn hands them to me.

So I look back up at the lady and ask if she has a stapler.

The lady holds her hand out to me I hand her the papers and turn away.

Next thing I know she hands them back to my buddy.

We say thank you and turn and leave.

As we're crossing the parking lot I say to my buddy - hey give me

those papers so I can put them in your file - he hands me

the stack of papers and the first thing I see is they are not in a neat stack, they are kind of twisted and the dag gone staple is right about in the middle of the pages.

Does professionalism exist anywhere ?

Just a small thing but enough to send me on a rant.

It turned out best for me that I wasn't still inside the VARO when I saw this.

jmho,

That is their way of telling that you are just a pest. We vets are the reason they have jobs, but you get the disrespect for free. If they can't even copy and staple pages without screwing it up just multiply that by a factor of 10 as the claim makes its way upwards and onwards. One little mistake in your file and your claim sits for months or years. I know this because the dumb shits held my claim up while waiting for a DD214 that was already in my c-file, but they were too lazy to look. I never would have know if I did not ask why my claim had no action. I supplied them with the certified copy of the DD214 or I might still be waiting.

More VA incompetence:

I had a dental C&P exam scheduled for first thing this morning. I found out by getting a printed copy of my upcoming appointments this afternoon. No notification by phone or mail. This is the second time I had a C&P exam scheduled and was not notified.

Vync,

This is not good - call the C&P department right away.

I was there in person and showed the list to the attendant. They rescheduled it for a day next week.

Several several years back duting BC (Before Computers) I was taking a correspondence course with my GI Bill. The VA would send me paper work, and an IBM keypunch card with the instructions to send it back to them, I did not have to do anything to the card except send it back to the place that sent it to me :D . The instructions told me not to staple, mulipulate and something else to the card. Every month this is how I received it (probably the same card over and over) not just a paper staple in the middle of the card, but a staple like they use for wood crates, big suckers. The edges would be bent, also. :D . I would eventually get my money, but you just wanted to strangle someone, but who :) .

John has it right, and it is sad that we are the reason they have a job. It sure is funny how they now have armed gaurds and metal detectors at the VARO's now. Gee I wonder why. Wonder if they get hazard pay!!! :D

As a combat veteran, or any veteran for that matter!!!

If you thought the fighting was over when you came home, got out, or when the politicians said it was over.

Welcome to the real fight, welcome to VA claims!!!

"Just sayin"
