I called 1-800-827-1000 today to inquire about my claims, filed Oct. 2009. I filed for a number of things directly SC and secondary to my SC spine, including an increase for IVDS, OSA, radiculopathies, and some other stuff. I had what I think were outstanding Nexus letters from private doctors (mostly board-certified specialists) for much of this, and one from my Chiropractor regarding some spinal issues. I also re-filed for TDIU (had been denied awhile back.)
The guy really seemed sharp and friendly, and gave me the following info from notes on the computer system:
1. Development ended, claim went to RSVR (rater) early April, notes in system say it should be completed in 30 days
2. All necessary medical records, SSDI records, employer info have been received.
3. No General C&P is required
4. At least some items were deferred
5. He thinks I will hear from VARO within next couple of weeks, but if not, I should call again.
Now, I know the 800 number sometimes gives unreliable info, but I really felt this guy cared, and knew what he was doing.
If all he told me is true, I'm hopeful that the deferred items and the comment about no general C&P mean something good. I certainly don't think they would try to shoot me down on all counts with the evidence and Nexus letters I submitted.
Now, if everything he told me was actually a load of crap, at least I've had a great afternoon and evening optimistically contemplating the possibilities.
I guess I don't have much of any questions, but if anyone has any ideas about this, comments are welcome! Peace out, have a great night.
