Allen,

Welcome to hadit! Not sure what you are looking for, IMO stands for independent medical opinion i've added a link below that explains IMO's. If this isn't what you are looking for, reply to this post with an explination of what you need. Hope this helps a vet!

I think what he means is that he is looking for a list of Doctors who will render an IMO. I dont have a list, but many doctors will accept payment for their medical opinion. One Doc that tends to "favor the Veteran" is Dr. Bash.

Personally, I think an IME (Independent Medical Exam) is superior to an IMO, because the statement of a Doc who examined you just seems more credible to me than a doc who simply examined other doctors records. Its kind of like the IME examiner is an "eye witness", where an IMO doc just reports what other docs observed.

I think Dr. Bash will also do an IME, but this would mean you would have to bear the cost of traveling to Dr. Bash's location so that he could examine you. Altho many Vets have won claims based on an IMO, I think that it is better to not leave it up to chance and get the exam, unless you simply cant afford it. JMHO.

Maybe broncho is onto something. Maybe we could have a topic to post good Vet-friendly IMO doc contact info for various areas without having to sift through a bunch of other types of posts...

I put the info of an organziation who finds IMO/IME docs to fit your needs.. they don't charge anything, you pay the doctor at the time of the IMO/IME. This info is int he IMO sectionin this forum. The organizationis in Southern California. You didn't say whwre you are located, and I am nopt sure if they do out of area referalls..

Good Luck

note: there might not be near enough time to find a referal, get an appointment, and then have the exam, have the report typed up, in time for submittion.. mine took several months to get all that done to get it to submit for my appeal..
