HadIt.com Elder john999 Posted July 11, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted July 11, 2010 Can you post the regulation that says ChampVA runs out when the vet reaches 70? What if vet dies before 70? I want to see that regulation.

I'm sorry you are having to go thru this. I didn't read every single word on the ASI website but this link says (under termination) that the spouse is covered to age 65 (then you get medicare with ChampVa as the supplement). Of course there's the possibility that the web page hasn't been update with any new rulings. If it were me, I'd would look into the situation a bit further. http://www.asicorporation.com/champva_Rules.html Edited July 12, 2010 by chr49
Berta
At age 65 the spouse must apply for and receive Medicare Part A and B to continue to be eligible for CHAMPVA. Then CHAMPVA becomes the secondary payer -Medicare pays first.
