carlie
Welcome to Hadit.com. It is actually quite normal to have more than 1 C&P scheduled on the same day. Below are some links you might want to research. Index to Disability Worksheets: http://www.vba.va.gov/bln/21/Benefits/exams/index.htm C&P's Do's and Dont's : http://www.hadit.com/thingstodoatcandp.html 38 CFR - Part 4 - Schedule for Rating Disability's : http://www.access.gpo.gov/nara/cfr/waisidx_09/38cfr4_09.html Example - 38 CFR - Schedule for Rating Disability's Tinnitus : 6260 Tinnitus, recurrent........................................ 10 Note (1): A separate evaluation for tinnitus may be combined with an evaluation under diagnostic codes 6100, 6200, 6204, or other diagnostic code, except when tinnitus supports an evaluation under one of those diagnostic codes. Note (2): Assign only a single evaluation for recurrent tinnitus, whether the sound is perceived in one ear, both ears, or in the head. Note (3): Do not evaluate objective tinnitus (in which the sound is audible to other people and has a definable cause that may or may not be pathologic) under this diagnostic code, but evaluate it as part of any underlying condition causing it. HadIt.com Elder LarryJ Posted October 13, 2010 HadIt.com Elder Share Posted October 13, 2010 I'm going to tell you what the examiner is going to be looking for as far as your PTSD exam is concerned. 1. You must have been somewhere where you would have, or could have been exposed to a stressful event. 2. This stressful event must have been because you were frightened or terrified of being injured or killed due to enemy or terrorist activity. 3. You must get these feelings and facts across to your examiner, for they are THE ONLY ONES now qualified to make the decision about whether or not you do, indeed, have the VA's version of PTSD. If you, in fact, are diagnosed as having PTSD due to your service, then you may wish to make your claim, including your C&P medical notes indicating your PTSD diagnosis, on a VA form #21-526EZ "Fully Developed Claim Form". Then, if you also have, say for example, a DD214 showing a CAR/CAB or an MOS in one of the "combat arms", or an actual notation on your DD214 of "combat", or, for example, a Bronze/Silver star, or commendation medals, etc., you want to make darn sure and send them copies of these things. DO NOT EVER "ASSUME" THAT THE VA HAS OR WILL GET ANY OF THESE THINGS, up to and including your SMR's (SERVICE MEDICAL RECORDS), recent copies of VA medical treatment or progress notes, Service Medical Treatment Records (yes, there is a difference in these records and your SMR's). And, of course, any records that you might have concerning PRIVATE MEDICAL TREATMENT concerning your disability(s). BUT, be VEDDY, VEDDY CAREFUL that any private medical records do NOT lead the VA down the path allowing them to DENY what you might be claiming as opposed to some other treatments that you may have been receiving, not connected to your hopefully service-connected claims. You can, if you wish, run any of the above by some of the more illustrious and more knowledgable veterans here on the hadit board, BEFORE sending the items in to the local VA Regional Office. just sayin'.................. marinevet1
I was 10% for the Malaria.. now i was told it changed to 0% but it was SC for Malaria. some of the other comments made for are from LarryJ My military MOS 8651 USMC Reconnannance Scout & Company Aid Man DD-214 States National Defense Campaign Ribbon Good Conduct Medal RVNMUC Gallantry Cross with Frame and Palm Presidental Unit Citation Vietnamease Serivce Medal Combat Action Ribbon Vietnamese Campaign Medal My mission patrols were to assist and save lives of fellow wounded or injured soliders. Seen much death and wounded while on patrol mission, of US soliders and VC/NVA soliders. carried body bags of deceased US soliders from helicopters. The lost of my Company Capt while on patrol & missing in action body never found I have been seen by a private Psy doctor and my Combat Expsure Scale was 28 and was given a 39-42 GAF score in 2010 and diagnoas with PTSD. My VA Psy doctor has me listed me withv severe PTSD and now also was told I have also a Bi Polar Disorder secondary to my PTSD. His GAF score was 39, 2010.... I have been have been attending 2 PTSD classes a Medic PTSD class and a regular PTSD class twice a week. I'm taking mood med's 3 time a day for depression, mood and BI Polar disorder. No hearing in right ear at all & tinnitus right side only I have the 3 C&P exams a week from Friday so I will try and prepare myself. I have read its not good to look at the examier is this true. Be nervous and dont give any info unless asked for it. There should be a forum just for how to be in a C&P exam.... I havent given my self letter to the VA yet I was thinking about giving it so the C&P doctor can read it & bring along all my medical info and military info also. I wont have any problems with stating my issues, SSDI awarded, DDD an and other issues, Depression, and anxiety and anger problems PTSD. being alone, not keeping a job more then 3 year all my life missing 10 year out of my life no work...being homeless.. i guess i just have to let my worse day show and see all. is there any test or exam they ask you to take ? just trying to cope the best i can
Guest terrysturgis
It looks to me that if you give the evidence that you are showing to the Hadit board to the VA, your ducks will be in a row. One suggestion I would make is that after your C&P's are completed, on the way out the door, go to the ROI(Release of Information) office and fill out the release form to get copies of your exams. It may take a while to get the copies but it is good to have the information while working your claim. Terry
