Hello Edb, This is great news. Congratulations. I presume you were Vietnam vet so that the new DVA presumptives put you to that award. I also think that since the cardio farction ratings are what the VA awarded from the rating schedule list, I would remember that you might consider an appeal for a higher percentage. Please review that award and compare to your cardiology reports and remember you have a year from the date on your award to file an appeal for a higher rating. Just wanted to throw that out there.

I too am awaiting the long process since 2007 , and have IHD at myocardial infarction of 44. I think this is suppose to put me at about 60 percent but I am just going off my memory from the VA rating charts. My problem is that I am a survivor from Fort Greely , outside of Vietnam and the VA does not like to look at that. Even though I have AO records showing it and how I was exposed, they are still denying me. And I have numerous IMO's and VA nexus letters, reports showing the link.

Berta ,,,,,,Berta,,,,,, Berta........ Somehow my dear , I just cannot see you coming down a chimney.....Love your suit.

Once again thank you for your service, your tenancity to hang in there and your award. God Bless, and remember .....

NEVER GIVE UP. C.C.

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR AWARD!!

How did you file COPD? My husband, who served in Vietnam, has asthma. We did not know how to file this, since his Pulmonary Fibrosis was denied.

If we can ever get his military records, we can see where they notated his broken ribs. He has back trouble and may need to go to an orthopedic doc to see if this is why he is having such back problems. He has shrapnel right next to his lower back spine. Then we could file if it could be related.

Thanks and we are happy for you!

Rockman's wife

Mrs. Rockman,

I filed under the pretense that the drug they gave me, (nicotine from cigarettes) was the cause of my COPD. I found a couple of good articles that correlated the use of drugs and PTSD. Yes it takes forever to get your SVC Med records, but when you do, make sure you look at every page, in case he forgot what happened like i did..

Capt. Well I am not sure what my cardio ratings are and what the percentages are for them. Can you help me out?

Thanks

Mrs. Rockman,

He will. We had the RO call me yesterday to let me know that the third pary release of information finally had me on it. We sent the first one on 07/03/10. What speedy service-huh!

The RO lady called back a gain telling me that a letter should be mailed out to my husband today regarding the PTSD claim. They show med info received. The letter will be asking us to show where his PTSD was in the service and thru the present. If we cannot get a hold of those records, then we cannot prove a thing. He did have anger issues in Vietnam and afterwards, but who knows if they will send that part. We have until 02/04/10 to get that info into them. for it is suspended. The one the mental health lady did has is susspended until 03/04/10. I am surprised they want to know service records except the mental health lady knew he was in bad shape. Now with this therapy going on, he is getting worse and worse all of the time. On his last session (this Monday), she told him that if it gets too hard, he can quit the sessions. That maybe what VA wants, then they can deny the claim. He told her that if he had not intended to finish the treatment, he would not have started it in the first place. The doors have now been open, so why back out now.

Yes, it has been a long time since Vietnam on remembering, but he remembers the details that he had tried to forget and place in a closet somewhere never to be opened again.

Good luck with your claims!

Rockman's wife and always will be

You know that "It Is What It Is" and I really am Doing the Best that I can ..taking one day at a time.

God Bless all!

That is awesome. You are on your way.

Has anyone told you this: Welcome Home and Thank you for your service. Did you get a PH for your wound?

JBasser

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.
