Compensation Claim Status "under 2Nd Review"

Question

So I called the VA's 800 number yesterday and I spoke with a representative regarding my compensation claim which is currently in the "review of evidence" stage at the Chicago Regional Office. I wanted to know if there was any update because I haven't heard anything in a long time (submitted claim June 10th of last year) and he told me "your file here is showing that it is under it's second review." I didn't even think about asking what that meant until it was too late and I had already ended the call.

My question is this: Does anyone here know what exactly that means? It sounds like a "good" thing, maybe progress is being made to get me closer to a C&P Exam?... Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Remember not to take seriously anything the VA tells you over the phone. If you ask via IRIS, at least you can cite their statement if it turns out not to be true.

If it will make you feel better, then go ahead and beleive what they said, which may indicate you are near a decision.

I think that may mean the authorization review. Authorization means they are about to make the decision but is not an indication of what it will be.

Sorry but 800 info is rarely accurate at all in trying to track where a current claim is and what

stage it's in or who is waiting on what.

At this stage what you were told really has little if any - meaning.

It is a review to check the aspects of the claim according to the VA.

According to the real world it can be considered another stall tatic.

The have an entire book full of methods to stall.

A Veteran is a person who served this country. Treat them with respect.

A Disabled Veteran is a person who served this country and bears the scars of that service regardless of when or where they served.

Treat them with the upmost respect. I do. Rejection is not a sign of failure. Failure is not an option, Medical opinions and evidence wins claims. Trust in others is a virtue but you take the T out of Trust and you are left with Rust so be wise about who you are dealing with.

Ha!! I figured as much. The guy was a bit of a clown in all honesty. Oh well. I will continue to sit back and wait because I do believe it will be worth it in the end. Thanks, all!
