Got Unofficial Letter From Dav, How Much Longer Now?

Rate this question

Standard

Question

My hubby just got unofficial letter from DAV on July 6, 2012 from claim filed back in December 2007. It says a combined evaluation of 40% has been assigned as a result of the following actions: Service connection for post-traumatic stress disorder with depression is granted with an evaluation of 30% effective 12/2007.

How much longer might it be before he gets official letter? Also does this mean he most likely will not get anything for his other illnesses?

Thanks.

Congrats on the positive adjudication.

Should be a nice chunk of retro compensation,

my guess is over 30 K - if this 40% is a brand new evaluation.

Sorry, no real time frames are accurate, just guesses, perhaps within

a month or so, maybe less.

Also does this mean he most likely will not get anything for his other illnesses?

Well if SC for PTSD is evaluated at 30% - there is something more in there that

got him compensated at 40%.

Not really enough info for accurate answers.

Thanks.

Thanks for the information. The 10% is for his back he has been receiving comp. for since 2010. I was thinking since the letter stated he only got the total 40% he wouldn't get anything on his other illnesses since there wasn't any mention of those. We are really needing that money to pay bills and mortgage so hope it comes really soon.

Thanks.

Whenever I read this; "PTSD with Depression" and they only rated it at 30% put up an alarm for me. How bad is his PTDS? Does he have dream/nightmares and sweating, does just go off for no reason? Just seems they underrated him IMO..
