Va Math Not Adding Up!

Rate this question

JayBrown1

Question

My friend got his decision and rating but to me it's not adding up. He received 90 percent rating but his disabilities are

Right knee 60

Left knee 40

Back 40

Left ankle 10

Left hip 10

Painful scar 10 not combine but added.

My calculations came to 100 percent. Am I wrong?

Bilaterals must be done first.

Combining 60% (Right Knee), 40% (Left Knee), 10% (Left Ankle) and 10% (Left Hip) we get to 80%

To that we must add the bilateral factor of 10%

80% x .10 = 8%

So 80+8=88%

Then continuing to combine we get:

88% combined with 40%(Back) = 93%

93% combined with 10% (Scar) = 94%

This rounds down to 90%

Any additional 10% that your friend gets will get him to 95% which will make him 100%

Hope this helps, Happy New Year!

Va math % do suck...I know a GWV who is 80% with the lovely VA math which is what he gets, even though regular is 160% Gotta love VA math !! That's what they use to pay with. So looks like 90 here rounded off...is correct for your claim % listed.
