doubleD
I was wondering how much influence does the C and P exam have on the approval and/or disability rating? I am stressed and freaking out because I am about to lose everything. It seems like there are a lot of appeals. Will I be denied the first time? The exam notes have the following: PTSD/Panic/Depression at least as likely as not (50% or greater) deficiencies in most areas GAF
doubleD
thanks, with all the stress pouring down right now, it helps to talk to someone to reassure what I think or hope will happen, even if all of them are WAGs:)

meghp0405
just a reminder, the VA is doing away with GAF scores when determining the % of a service connected mental health diagnosis.
shipswriter
C&P exams are generally intimidating from my experience; the doctors that have C&p 'POWER' know it and it can go to their head; that said, one of the doctors who examined me was professional as could be and I liked her 'bedside manner' which equates to 'listening with respect' (for the patient). \ For another C&p exam, the doctor and I were small talking on the way to the exam room; he told me in a harsh manner 'you are going to stay at 60%' - in other words his demeanor was like this: 'I have already decided, so don't get your hopes up.' Sure enough with a volley of omissions and quick judgment he crushed my claim and the VARO endorsed everything he wrote like it was gospel which obviously it was far from it, as he did a 'quick and dirty' job of it. Tinker
I'm going to say around 70% or greater.
Navy04
doubled, I was just medically retired in Feb after almost 9 years active and multiple trips to the Desert. I have had PTSD for a few years, and even spent time in the Nut house last year. My GAF was a 42 and the VA rated every condition as severe, yet the VA only rated me 30%. I currently have a request to have my %s upped. I am 80% with all my conditions. Per the VA policy, raters are suppose to use the GAF scores as a measurement towards %s, but I have a few buds that are raters in Texas and Louisiana and they both say that a lot of VA raters don't go by their own guidelines. I hope you get atleast 30%. Good luck and God Bless you bud. I just quit my job as an agent with the State chasing Violent Sex Offenders. It paid a lot but I could not handle it anymore. I just got Binder and Binder to represent me for my State SSD. I will be struggling soon too with not much income coming in. My wife is very supportive and I just hope the US helps all of us before it is too late.Anyone willing to Sacrifice for their Country, Deserves a Smile on the way Out.
