  1. Thank you for your support but I jumped the gun....Checked my bank account, it didn't add the dependants to it. My letter on ebenefits state effective date 12/13 with the amount for dependants....why would they do that(just thinking out loud) yeah, I know...don't trust ebenefits. Heck, they entered it after the claim closed but anyways it is what it is.
  2. ikr..the crazy thing is I added them on in January, checked on it in September and was told there wasn't anything regarding the dependants in my file but the guy added it right then and I was like...WTH is going on...then seeing other veterans on here not to include a friend of mine who got her results recently not getting their dependants added after their decision....thank God this one is done.
  3. Geez, after filing for an increase in Jan. of this year, my dependant request was stuck with my increase claim along with the "pre determination" of my competency claim. Claim for increase finished and info on ebenefits reflects the addition of dependency but at my current rating. No letter has been sent but I was told they're still working the competency issue. I'm glad they've finally added the dependants tho...
  4. Awaiting the VA's decision on the predetermination of competency for the completion of this round especially if I don't get the increase on my claims. Okay meghp0405 I'm not going to check ebenny anymore. I'll wait on the BBE....I agree, too much stress.
  5. I checked ebenefits today to see the dependency and the IU, cervical, and thoracic increase claim closed yesterday. The predetermination claim for competency is still pending. It's showing the increase for my current combined rating due to dependants but I guess I was denied on the increase for all of the things I claimed....what a bummer.
  6. Look out for being deemed incompetent....although you listed your wife handling finances, you said you wasn't able to handle your affairs. IMO, any retro/backpay will probably be held until the VA handles this issue on their end...competency,fiduciary, etc.etc.etc. could be a long process. Geez, I made that mistake on my first C&P, and a year later, I'm still dealing with the VA to clear this up so good luck to you...jmo
  7. I'm in the same boat. Unbeknownst to me that saying you have help paying your bills would create a headache. I've been worried prior to getting another C&P for increase. The proposal was mentioned in my award letter last Nov. "along with my retro too". I sent a 4138 stating I could handle my finances the same time I filed for an increase in Jan. of this year. Now the issue with the fiduciary has been lingering all this time but will be decided when my claim finishes. They'll decide on the competency, the increase, and the dependency all at once. I can't say what'll happen in your case but for me, compared to reading about fiduciary here, I'll be okay I believe. But yeah, if you have a private physician, have them write a statement so you can get it in.
  8. 2 Questions, when you say contractor for C&P exam, is QTC considered as a contractor? Even if it's done at a VA facility?
  9. This C&P is in conjunction with the increase I filed in January and/or for the competency issue from the C&P I had last year and the VA questioned my competency. I did however was connected to the QTC folks thru the VA 800 # where I was told one was for my back and another was a consult soooo I'll see when I get there next week. Yes, I hear ya loud and clear...I'll be there with bells on again.
  10. Thanks for your replies. I checked some older posts to get an idea. Yeah, someone had something regarding competency exam too. From the look of it, it could be anything from what everyone suggested. I've seen more negative responses on the "QTC" topic. I have a few things going on such as determining competency since I wasn't aware of this site last year and told the C&P examiner I have family help out when it comes to paying my bills... red flag..the VA started sending me letters stating the competency of handling my affairs would be determined. This was last Nov (1st decision). I put in for an IU increase in Jan., had a C&P exam in Sept and now the QTC next week. Now my neck and back is currently 20&10%, Mental is 70% combined 80. The exam for my neck and back has worsened tremendously as it states in the notes from the C&P so yeah, it could be any of it and will see when the time comes. I just thought once you go for your C&P, that's it but guess not.
