ptsd Sinusitis And Hearing Loss?

Looking at my paperwork the VA did deny Hearing loss. Citing hearing test from 1979.

At my C&P 2 weeks ago with the Hearing Doc, the Doc said I had 'Substantial Hearing loss which is cosistant with long term Sinusitis'. He said he would write the report that way.

Since I am currently rated for service connected Sinusitus at 10%, now I am thinking they have to address the Hearing Loss?

Or, do I have to file a new claim based on new evidence? Is the latest C&P the Evidence I need?

My Current FDC claim is for PTSD, Hearing Loss, Tinitus and an increase for Sinusitis.

I am SC 0% for hearing loss. I have sinusitis too, but I did not submit a claim for that. I will submit an FDC for Sinusitis later this year. I just had my C&P exams last Friday, and my reports are on MyHealthEVet. The report states increased hearing loss, from my original claim, yet from what I could see, is that it still does not meet the VAs standard for a rating. I have 2 Vietnam vets, friends of mine, and they both wear Hearing Aids and only get 10%. From what I have heard it is dang near impossible to get a % increase for hearing loss. Good luck and I hope we both have good news to write in the next few months.

Where on myhealthyvet can I find my C&P exams???

On homescreen it says download info. Then go to where it says check updates. Then below that it says select info to update. You want to check box to the right where it says VA Notes. Below that box is a date range, for the start date put in a day before your Exam, and end date will be todays date. Then hit download, once it downloads on the right it will say view or download. Select View then exams will pull up. Each one will be listed by condition applied for and Doc performing exam. That is it bud. You can save doc to computer or print if you want to. Good luck

Gentlemen,

As I have posted before and as I know many other vets, if you meet the standards or should I say substandard hearing of the charts you will be compensated per the chart correctly.

Being 0% connected is a good thing and moving along when your hearing gets worse (if it does) you should have no problem getting the proper rate.

An example of my hearing if I my. I am virtually deaf without my hearing aide. I also only have one because my other ear is totally deaf!

I had a meeting last week with my ENT and he feels I would be a good candidate for a cochlear operation that the VA is going to be setting up soon. Not sure but I might take a go at it have to do some more research on it.

On a good note when I drive I can not hear my wife or anyone else in the car!!

Oh I am rated 70% for hearing loss and 10% for tinnitus.

I had not thought about the positives...thank you for that. After I get my Hearing aids I will have alot of 'Battery Problems' so the wife will have to be patient with me.

Issued hearing aids in 2001

0% from VA in 2004

20% in 2009

40% in 2011

My last hearing test shows I will be rated at 50 or 60% when my claim is completed.

I remember being so mad about the zero percent rating. I didnt realize how important service connect is.
