Question

VA Benefit Information

Summary of benefit information You have one or more service-connected disabilities: Yes Your combined service-connected evaluation is: 80% You are not considered to be permanently disabled due to your service-connected disabilities at this time because your case is scheduled for review on: June 01, 2015 You are not considered to be permanently disabled due to your service-connected disabilities at this time because you are scheduled for a future reduction in rating on: June 01, 2015

Does this mean I am gonna get a reduction? I have only had my initial rating since 2006. Just wondering if this is normal or are they planning to do an automatic reduction? It did not copy and paste correctly. I copied this from ebenefits.

When you receive your notice to reduce you can request a hearing. You need to do this ASAP. This will take about 60 days maybe longer. You then can present your evidence as to why you should not be reduced or if they want to reduce to 10% you argue that and possible get a higher rating.

I just Medically Retired last year, and I am 80% now, should be 100% in a few months, and yet mine says review on Jan 2015.

I was wondering if it just said this because I haven't been rated for 10 years. I just looked on ebenefits and noticed this. I never received anything in the mail. I didnt know about being reduced. We have become dependent on this and dont know what we would do if we lost it. I didnt know I could be reduced without a good reason. I can understand being reduced for fraud or a temp illness. I guess I never understood that it was a temp thing. I have been 80% for 4 years now and was 60% for 4 or 5 years.

This is the VA saying we are going to examine and look at you. SSDI does the same thing to younger folks.

Hang in there, This is all part of the game.
