Knee Exam

Question

I'm going to file for a knee problem (shrapnal behind it and the problems I'm having with that knee). Would you share with me what you filed for regarding your knee and the arthritis you mentioned. Thanks. Also, would someone tell me what 10% tinnitus, 0% right ear, 50% ptsd, and 10% knee adds up to? I can't figure that table out. Thanks. Pete

Biggest first:

50% = 50% 0f 100 = 50%

1st 10% = 10% of the remaining 50% = 5%, you're now at 55%

2nd 10% = 10% of the remaining 45% = 4.5%, you're now at 59.5%

0%, just one of them shouldn't add anything

VA will round off the 59.5% and send you a 60% check.

Anyone, feel free to correct me

Should be 60% anything .5 or over will get you to the next level 25 will get you 30, 35 will get you 40 so on.

This is why a bilateral is very important to any claim as a point may mean alot of pay diffrence over your claim life.

Pete

If you are 0% and say you file for both knees....The VA awards you 30% in each.......The bilateral would be 10% of the combined rating which would be 6% 10% of 60% = 6% for a combined rating of 66% which should give you a rating of 70%.

This is why the bilateral is ver important if you can claim it.

If I am wrong someone will correct my VA math.

Definitely wrong in your figures as given

30% combined with 30% would give 51% (NOT 60%) + 10% = 5.1 for a total of 56.1% which would round up to a 60% award.
