Question

I am trying to find a good definition of marked or definite interference? That is the difference under 7328 diagnostic code for 40-60%. I can't get a straight answer on the net. I'm at 20 percent right now. Anybody's assistance would be greatly appreciated.

7328 Intestine, small, resection of:

With marked interference with absorption and nutrition, manifested by severe impairment of health objectively supported by examination findings including material weight loss 60

With definite interference with absorption and nutrition, manifested by impairment of health objectively supported by examination findings including definite weight loss

Now the next question since it sounds like I won't get the 40 now will I get the 30% under 7318. Pyramiding has kind of screwed me. 7328 and 7318. Well they can't be separated so will they raise me to the 30% under 7318?

7318 Gall bladder, removal of:

With severe symptoms 30

With mild symptoms 10

Nonsymptomatic 0

Spleen, disease or injury of.

See Hemic and Lymphatic Systems.

Now. What is the difference between severe and mild symptoms? This has been my argument with the va ro? I'm 10 percent for 7318 and 20 percent for 7328. Problem is which shoes the greatest picture of condition under pyramiding.

Great Advice guys as usual. The VA sucks when it comes to rating the Insides. I have severe Crohn's Disease, Barrett's, GERD and the VA Docs are going to remove 8 feet of my Intestines in a few months, and I am only at 30%, WTH! I have so much hate for a lot of the VA's Policies where they low ball Vets, or combine disabilities as one, even though their own DRs treat each condition separately. Good luck and sorry I rambled on.

30% Crohn's Disease

10% Asthma
10% Tinnitus
10% Damage of Cranial Nerve II

10% Scars
