Question

Hello all this is my first post here. I am still active duty about to retire in a year. I have had back issues since 2005 on a deployment. I injured my back again on another deployment when I was tasked to go with the Army in 2008. In 2012 I had some denervation done before I deployed again. When I got back from my deployment I went to see the doctor and he suggested surgery. I was scheduled for a PLIF on my L5,L4 & S1 on my left side. When the doctor opened me up my right side was just as bad from an accident I had coming home from the 2012 deployment. He had to do a PLIF on both sides L5,L4 & S1. Rehab went ok, the pain shooting into my legs went away, but my back is still in a lot of pain every day. It has been 8 months since my surgery. My profile ends soon and I might have to be put on another one, so this might cause an MEB to come down. If I make it to retirement or whatever happens what kind of disability would I be looking at?

Thank you for the help.

Welcome aboard bud

I was medically retired last year after 10 years active, and 5 spent in OIF/OEF. I have a very bad back too. I was processed out last year on the PEB/IDES program. It looks to be that you would get around 50% for you back based on what you posted. The only real way to help you, is when you do come to that point, post all your info here and we will try to help you the best we can. God Bless and good luck.
