Question

Could someone add my ratings please?

50% MDD

20% Right Knee

10% Left Knee

I'm asking because my old VSO told me one thing before she transferred and now my new one is telling me something different.

According to the rating chart 50% + 20% =60%, 60% + 10% = 64% which is rounded down to 60%. Of course this is not counting any bi lateral factors.

Pete is correct on percentage without bi-lateral factor. If bi-lateral is applied to knee conditions, then the percentage is 66% which is rounded up to 70%.

At the following site, it will do the math for you. I "believe" to be pretty accurate, but then again I do not do math very well. Others more intelligent then me will chim in on this if the math is correct or not I am sure.

For the above it came up with 64% zero'd down to 60% as noted from the above previous posters.

After you find the percentage, you can click on the link to the right of the result and do the math for actual compensation.

"The rounded number would be 70% disability. Use this figure in the disability compensation calculator."

Thank you all for the replies. But it seems to be the same mixed answers that I receive from the RO. Guess I'll have to wait until my claim is complete to find out the real answer. Why did some of you apply the bilateral factor and others didn't?

You can either request a complete copy of your latest rating decision including the legend sheet or you can request a list of all your service connected disabilities and any bi-lateral factors and then add them up.

The legend sheet will show if VA gave you any bi-lateral factors.

With out this information it is very hard to determine your combined rating percentage.
