Question

I received my decision letter this week, whereby they increased PTSD to 70% which granted me a combined 100%. They did not make it permanent and I am scheduled for a follow up appointment November 2015. Does anyone have any experience on this to know if there is no improvement, condition remains same, will they change me to permanent? Is this the VA method to put it off? I have extreme memory loss that will unfortunately only continue to deteriorate.

Yup, they won't generally make you P&T, unless you request it. If you've had the diagnosis for five yrs or more, without improvement, or are 55yo or older or there's one more thing I can't think of right now (brain cramp), you should request P&T, by simply writing a letter that you are requesting P&T and quote which of the above fit your situation. jmo

I too am 70% for PTSD, 100% VA, and also not permanent, yet. With that high of a % for PTSD, the VA generally does not like to see someone working, unless you are working part time for a family member, or a protected environment. What I did is my 100% was granted in APR 14, and I filed a new FDC claim Jun 14. Once I get the results from this claim, then I will go and file for P&T. I have multiple high %s to include Crohn's Disease and TBI, which neither will be cured, yet the VA did not make me permanent either. Just wait about 6 months, and continue your treatment with the VA, then file for P&T.
