I called the 800# just to see what the effective date is, and the representative scoffed at my question. He said "You're getting free money. Why are you asking?" Way to make me feel worthless, VA! My mom gave me great advice about my success. She said it is time I focus on myself now. You should do the same! :) Congratulations on the win! 100 P&T is not that easy to get! Don't go out and just blow all the retro you may receive! I had to spend some of my recent retro last week on a new washer and dryer. The old ones were 15 years old, and I had repaired the dryer more times than I can count! The 800 "peggy" responses are often not what you want or need to hear. It sounds like the person answering was not interested in answering veterans questions that required any effort. Besides that, how were you notified that the claim had closed, and you were awarded 100% P&T? Usually a package of "stuff" is included with an award letter. Lately, though, the VA has called veterans, including myself to inform them of the actual award, with some of the details. They did tell me during the call what retro amount was involved.
